new apaches have reached showrooms, while enquiring i got to know only one classic model was left.so try your luck at nearby showroom.
btw glad to know that your dad considered rtr.
and the question remains why do i race?

              Hi Hayaz,
According to your budjet & requirements Yamaha SZ-R will be a good choice, its the cheapest 150cc bike avaiable now...it has FZ's same 153cc engine detuned to 12bhp for more mileage, performance is also good & gearbox is slick..its a great choice at your budjet.
As u are a begineerer it would be better to go for a 125cc bike like Yamaha SS125... I would say it the best 125cc bike...has great performance as well as a good engine along with good mileage.
I don't recommend Pulsar 135..as it not reliable has good power & performance but engine is not smooth & not good for long term use or long riding...So this bike is not a good choice for u.
One bike that I recommend u is Suzuki Slingshot+...its a good 125cc bike,..has one of the smoothest engine along all 125cc bike..very comfortable sitting..has gear indicator, will help u since u r a begineer...ride quality is smooth & has no vibrations...For city riding & long riding this bike is a good choice.
Do checkout each bike I have mentioned above & also test drive each bike.

                Booked apache rtr 160 hyperedge

Went to the showroom today, to book grey rtr160. But i saw the new batch of 160's with black clip ons. Kinda struck by the looks of the new all black rtr. The bike us now completely black with orange highlights here and there, which looked nice. So went ahent and booked a black one.. :-)
@shamshalu..thanks for the suggestion, bro. But i have already booked rtr160.

No you are not... I booked the current one (2012 version with black clip ons). Actually, i was in a hurry so that the current ones should not get phased out.. But fortunately, i was right on time. The new rtrs lacks some character imho..

went to the showroom again, now with my dad. saw the new 160 and 180. test rode the new 160. The first thing i felt noticed was the smoothness. The bike was vibe free at all rpms. gear ratios are taller now, which might be responsible for the smoothness. it feels more like cbz-xtreme rather than rtr. the engine feels more mature and less eager to leap forward. the riding position is unchanged. overall, the new bike somehow lacks the punch of the original rtr. Me and my dad didn't liked the looks. the new headlamp, oversized tank extensions and belly pan didn't went well for, luckily, both of us. It looks almost like flame from rear quarters. not that flame looks bad, but the new rtr has lost its uniqueness. My dad was soon relieved when i showed him the bike i booked(all black hyperedge, prev.version):-)

Should I buy KTM Duke ?

One question to the owners of KTM 200:

I have already booked Pulsar 200 NS but its not coming any soon and its hard to wait anymore. So, I was thinking of buying a Duke instead.

I want the mileage to be 40+ and also I checked in the KTM ownership thread, it gets heated up. Is anything serious here or anything else which I should take into account?

I usually travel for City and Highway Riding (20 + 25 Km) respectively.
My height: 5 feet 10 inches with average build.
Should I buy one? Please recommend owners.
