But, how about the mileage of 150 CC bikes? Seeing that the petrol prices are sky-rocketing every now & then, I should admit that "Fuel Efficiency" is bringing itself to the top priority.

    Thanks

Honda Shine: the most reliable among the three, but the least powerful...Go for it,if you are just concerned about commuting for point A to B.this bike does it perfectly.
Suzuki Slingshot:It feels good to ride, does nothing exceptional.not very powerful.cant say about milage...
Actually, buying any of these ,you wont regret.
      Take test ride,and decide...
      Hi Sambit,

Yes, I rode Yamaha SS 125 today and it really felt good. Just waiting to hear a word from the "Mileage" god.

      Thanks

your concerns are genuine.if you ride sanely you can extract mileage almost equal to ss 125 with p135/unicorn.its not always about cc that determines mileage.think practically.
and the question remains why do i race?
every finishing line is the begining of a new race.

#i have learnt to manipulate my own adrenaline and the perception of biking is different.
        #overkill is underrated.
#how random roads may appear there is always a destination.sigpic
#i don't subscribe to co-incidence,either it is the rider or the other moron on the road

(:)people keeps on saying add spark to life, bajaj got hold of that idea and added an extra spark to bike.

          Hi sayank10,

I do agree your take on "mileage depends heavily on how the person rides it".

          Thanks

hey if want high mileage then you can consider either glamour pgm-fi or stunner pgm-fi.stunner pgm-fi looks stunning while glamour pgm-fi offers marginally more mileage[60+] and both are 125 cc.
and the question remains why do i race?

IMO Glamour is Pretty overpriced and so is stunner, one can buy a 150 for almost same price, and glamour has only 4 Gears.

they are not at all overpriced,it's just that the incorporation of pgm-fi system has triggered the price to shoot up.for day to to day commuter assurance of mileage and decent low end torque matters which both of them provide.

                  @sayank10,

I think now Suzuki Slingshot is pushed out of the list as I've got barely few reviews about it. But, in-comes 2 other bikes- Stunner & Glamour.

I checked Stunner. It is expensive (around 76K vs 62k of Shine & SS 125) & has a very high pillion seat.

                  Thanks

stunner pgm-fi is expensive not stunner.but then fi will help in getting better mileage ,linear throttle response, hassle free start with out choke in cold mornings.if step-up pillion seat is uncomfortabe for you then you can consider glamour pgm-fi,more over it has digital display which shows average fuel consumption so you can keep track of your fuel expenses.

Please do not consider the lower cc fi models. I have witnessed a friend of mine struggle with problems at the service centers and high service costs. Even without the fi technology, Most of the 125cc bikes will deliver a mileage of around 60. I donot see why you dropped slingshot. It is a good bike and offers a very good mileage in comparison to other 125cc bikes.
In today's world, quotes don't matter. Quotas do!

I wouldnt really go for the slingshot, dont you think the SS seems more of a better choice for the budget here?
There are no short-cuts to any place worth going. So ride safe when you are treading uncharted roads.

Planning to buy SS125, but just got the following concerns :
                            a. Open chain ... diff to maintain as the roads in my area becomes slushy when it rains
                            b. rear tyre not much wide for grip on bumpy road?

I did take a test drive and found it smooth, but still am undecided.

Would be great if someone shares if they have had any problems regarding the above concerns

open chain is not that difficult to maintain.just time to time cleaning and lubing.i think ss comes with nylogrip zapper, which has good grip on tarmac,so don't worry.

You should also be knowing that such PGM-FI systems deliver almost same mileage as carb device in 100-125cc bikes, moreover FI systems need more care which anyone who buys 100cc bike is not really interested in getting done looking at the price of just cleaning the FI's regularly!

The open chains aren't issue since its an o-ring chain. But you need to use chainlube every 400-500km. The rear tyres are the best, in fact better than my bikes pathetic tyres. I will be going for MRF nylogrips anyday!
