skinny built>gs 150 r can be stiff handler at parking speed
oh.. so how will it be like in bumper to bumper traffic? will it be 'i wish i hadnt bought this' bad??

if you can stretch your budget>consider fazer as those semi-fairing are wind-blast tested.although its 150 cc heart will not be as tour-friendly as zmr.p220 or cbr.mileage figure will be around 38-45
thanks.. hadnt thought about it.. but the mileage is again the problem with fazer/fz

Go for dazzler the parts are also easily available and there are many good words of this bike. The new colors are also out in the market. Well its all up to u. Coming for the new PULSAR well its a long wait can u manage well I guess it might be a good choice but since it is 200 u don't expect average more than 40 I guess. Well also not to forget for the first time in 2 wheelers any company is going to get triple spark plug. So I guess go for dazzler a better engine and a good life. So all the best shall wait for your bike do let us all know about it.
      All the best

thanks for such a good reply . but, im so confused abut the gs 150r and the dazzler( and impulse too to tell the truth) what is your opinion about them?

what u want most important your height 5'10
yes, its very important... but the seat height of dazzler is less than unicorn(which is perfect for me), right? my question is.....is it uncomfortable for my height? (especially with the side fairing).........

      also......
Go for dazzler the parts are also easily available
actually...thats not what i heard, the parts are extremely costly and in most cases unavailable...maybe its not that way everywhere but im pretty sure it is in kerala. it is a big factor putting me off....... can you please confirm this for me?

Under relaxed riding conditions, it offer an FE of about 55. It is a Suzuki product so not many people will doubt its reliability and like
ok, but what about in heavy traffic? will it give as much mileage as the dazzler (45-50)

Drive Activa for few more months

Don't hurry to buy any bike within such a short time.

Also widen your choice and save money for April-May!!!!
yes brother , i would but the maintanence cost is becoming unbearably high.... besides, its too small for me, and im not exactly proud of riding it to college everyday.!

@Amaran: Bro, I presume you're new to the forum. Please use the Multi-Quote functionality when replying to 2 or more people. (Use the + symbol beside Quote button.)

Now, coming to your query - all bikes you shortlisted fall in the 150cc category.
Let me put down my opinion one bike at a time.

            1. Hero Impulse - A fun to ride trans-roader. (on road/off road)
Zippy in city traffic, you'll forget potholes and bumps. But that's it. Touring on a highway won't be fun. I feel it's a little under powered for highway rides; i.e, you can't ride ~90-100 kmph all the time. 60-70 kmph would be good on that machine and it'll be a tad slow for highways.

            2. Suzuki GS150R - A fantastic bike. Wonder why Suzuki doesn't promote it. This is one bike which has earned respect by word of mouth and it deserves all of it. 6 gears provide the smoothness in ride, but the A.S.S is poor. Plus, Suzuki showrooms/service centers are quite limited in number. This may cause problems in future. It's a little bulky, but I feel you'll adjust to it in a month max. You'll get close to 45 kmpl even after spirited riding.

            3. Honda Dazzler - Another gem from Honda. It's Unicorn repackaged in style. Smooth engine and gearbox. A.S.S is bad, but better than Suzuki. You can expect worst mileage of 45-48 kmpl even after ripping it on highways. The seating height maybe a little less than Unicorn, but at 5'10'', you won't feel cramped on it.

[Note:- Sourcing parts for any make except Bajaj bikes is costly. No point cribbing for it. All bikes you shortlisted are foreign make, read Japanese; hence the price.]

My opinion - Dazzler, for peace of mind. Suzuki GS for everything but service.
Take your pick. All the best.
            Got a $5 head? Get a $5 helmet.

You missed to check out prolly the best bike from Bajaj's stable - The Pulsar 135 LS. It light and handles hotter than the GS150r. Gives a mileage of around 66.8 kmpl (ARAI certified). And even the spares are cheap. You wont have to stretch your bugdet either.
As for touring, there are guys who've done Saddlesores on it. You shouldn't really be asking for more.

One other bike I'd like to point out to you is the CBZ Xtreme (now only Xtreme). Its highly comfortable. Maybe because its a more commuter friendly bike. But its quite easy to ride. Heavier than P135,yet light enough to handle. Mileage is around 50kmpl. And well within your budget. I'm not too sure about its touring capabilities, but with a mileage that high and a saddle that good, I dont think touring should be an issue.

i would recommed you to go for gs150r.....forget impulse if you go for long distance touring..my freind has got a impulse back in my native town..i got a chance to drive his vechile...the seats are really bad..sorry hero...take the bike to the highyway the missing horses is easily felt....with a pillion rider, the bike managed a top speed of 105..the engine feels strained after 80...whereas a xtreme or a dazzler would be a breeze to ride...pillion seat lack any support...my pillion shouted to stop the bike after a riding the bike for 10 mins because of heat from the silencer...without a pillion i rode the bike in sugarcane fields,,i was doing at 40kmph in the paddy fields with larger potholes..where my xtreme strugggled even to move..the perfect offroader...........these are just my opinions........

if u can extend ur budget,,,u can get apache180, zma or p220.....get any one of this bikes,,,,u can tour all day long at triple digit speeds...

Being a com-tourer on P135, i am not doubting any of the mills abilities. But would sure recommend you for GS150R. Just because of its engine smoothness and 6th gear for better cruising ability.

I still suggest to wait for some time and widen your choice. Otherwise, I am affraid, You will look at other bikes around you after few months. Whereas, a little patience will give you peace of mind for another 6-7 years and you will forget the current maintenance cost of activa.

                    Choice is yours.
