  • New Year ride... in search of ecstasy...

Himalayas cant keep me far from its lap for more then 2 months...
what can be better if you are there to enjoy the bliss on last & first day of a year...
had some bit adventurous plans but my guide called to say on last minute that "sir jee, bhayankar snowfall ho gaya hai, hum nahi kar paayenge jo socha hai..."
i had second plan in my wits and our Bulls ready eagerly to kiss snow covered roads...
    we were 4 RIders,
    Tilak Soni on trusty Machismo
    Kartik on TBTS
    Sandeep on Electrs 5s
    Abey on Electra 5s

    some teasers before things unfold...

The pleasure is when your rear wheel slides, and you bring it back; and when the front wheel lifts, you take your time bringing it back.

the last minute preps were done , we all 4 riders reached home after finishing our office work... checked spares & all & confirmed we had 2 puncture kits...
the assembling point was our patent Akshardham Petrol Pumb (pump its now history)
we anticipated heavy fog on haridwar highway so keeping that in mind we all planned to depart @ 6 am...
all riders started arriving on right time and checked our stuff, the departure was perfect @ 6.00 am ...
our days destination was Duggalbitta which was 430 kms from starting point.. so we decided to push ourselves maximum with bare minimum stops...
found muzaffarnagar Bypass to be very time saving and we reached rishikesh 11.00, very lucky not to find any fog on way... Rishikesh greeted us with drizzles so our rain gears came out...
then the further journer till srinagar was not much comfortable due to potholes, mud, water logging and all... reached Srinagar at 4 pm and got to know that at Khankhra, before Rudraprayag the road was closed due to landslide... we discussed on the bridge at kirtinagar and decided to push move further remembering Himalayas God...
at the landslide we were very lucky that just 5 mts back the JCB & bulldozer had cleared the stones and road was thrown open ... we thanked God and move further to cross Rudraprayag on time...

thanks dear friends for your valuable comments they all matter a lot to me

the time we crossed Rudraprayag, it was 6.30 and chill was felt in the hills... took our sutta & chai break and appraised further route...
from here , our destination was roughly 75 kms and the last stretch of 3 kms was to be covered on hard/Black ice & snow... discussions were done with one option to stat at Ukhimath but majority wanted to kiss snow in dark and celebrate newyear in white...
my friend was also waiting for us at Duggalbitta, so we decided to march ahead and test our nerves in dark...
after crossing Ukhimath we felt that yess we have almost reached but then realised that a tough patch has yet to be arrived and that will suck all of us...
cud not capture much in the dark for several reasons you can imaging...
the last 1 km ahead Makku bend took us 2 hrs to cross... thanks to blake ice & increasing snow levels...
at last we reached our day destination "Duggalbitta"...
