Default Into The Himalayas: a mototrip to Leh and beyond

On June 05, 2011 I started my journey to fulfill a long cherished dream of riding my motorcycle in the Himalayas.
My friend from Pune, Ashutosh Adkar partnered me in this escapade.

First of all I would like to say thanks to those who really helped me realize my dream.

1)Xbhp: For introducing me to motorcycle touring some 4 years back and for being an inspiration all these years.
2)Bcmtouring: You are a great tribe with huge information base.

Thats quite a trip !!
You have covered almost all parts of leh in one go.
Waiting for the log.

Also, would need some info on the Spangmik- Hanle route. Doable with pillion ?

Spangmik-Chushul (50 kms) : Road is decent (but kachcha)but littered with sand.

Chushul-Chagga (40 kms) : Road is again kachcha but without much sand.

Chagga-Hanle (90 kms): Glorious Tarmac.

In short, doable with pillion.
