Default Slope of Hell, Kamshet

"If i had believed in Heaven and Hell I went up to the heaven n came down through hell..." - Originally by Alex who joined us for the ride from pune..

The Slope of Hell, Kamshet,Lonavala

Pointers to the place-
18.740216,73.542941 - Google Maps

Gps Co-ordinates - 18.740216,73.542941

I may have started this thread but the plan wasnt originally mine. Yes this plan was originally by my friend Rony who apparently does (still does) have a cold-war with me. But nevertheless I still thank him first and later other buggers who forced me into this, Thank you for taking me to this lovely place !!

Apologies again rony for taking potshots at you time and again...

A short(from my side) yet a long(from rony's side) post showing all the planning and stuff he did...

I am planning to witness the total lunar eclipse away from the city's light pollution at a place very popular amongst off-roaders and bulletiers called "Slope of Hell" near Kamshet (just ahead of Big Wheels Motoring Cafe) on Mumbai-Pune NH4 this Saturday (10/12/2012) evening and camp overnight atop. The return journey would start on Sunday morning and we should be home by 10am.

Atop there is a BSNL tower building where we can take refuge or better if we have tents with us we can camp. The view from above is astounding !

PR: The Biker's musings: Bombaybikers Atop Slopes O' hell

Plan would be :-
1. Leave Mumbai by 2pm on Saturday (10/12/2012)
2. Reach the place before 5pm. (Put up the tent before sunset.)
3. Lunar eclipse would start at 6pm and peak at 8pm ending at 10pm.
4. We can have campfire/dinner/fun atop overnight.
5. Leave the place by 7am and reach Mumbai by 10am on Sunday. (11/12/2012)

We need lots of water and food to help us survive overnight. Some photographers and good entertainers. Someone can bring a tent (banking on DK bhau).

Interested bikers start adding your names
1)Rony
2)Hormuz Ada (horror)

Who's up for the ride???

Meeting Points :-
Andheri Stn @ 12:30pm
WEH-JVLR, Jogeshwari @ 12:40pm
EEH-JVLR, Kanjurmarg @ 1pm
EEH-Ghatkopar, Chheda Nagar @ 1:10pm
Belapur-Uran Phata, Palm Beach Road @ 1:45pm
Panvel JNPT-NH4-NH17 Triangle @ 2pm
Slope of Hell, Kamshet @ 4pm "

I dont know why but no one confirmed for this ride and me too wanted to avoid for obvious reasons

But our very own tower-dada and T-man...I mean Tushar and Veeral respectively(do not mix them up..it'l be difficult) were constantly coaxing me that we do plan a ride there the same day !

I quickly messaged other xbhpians asking if they could join only to get reactions like
"LOL"
"you and rony..hahaha"
"no men..good luck "
"kya baat karray chal #*&##"
"cool..see you after work...will catch up"

To my surprise we were about 14-17bikes and more bikers...salute this spirit of mumbai-pune guys -- despite being however busy we can find time for friends , foes and fun ! (also some other 'f' s which are quite understood)

Yes the plan was to spoil the ongoing party and then...then what...PARTY !

I dont know if we were quite successful in doing that but we did have a very good time there !

The pictures and videos will be up soon as and when I find time which will do more justice than me just yapping...

A small Glimpse..

One of the entire group..

Will post other pictures and videos later(but soon) waiting for the log approval..

Continuing with the earlier post..

All these images were taken by me on our Bike-Trip to The Slope of Hell,Kamshet,Lonavala.

All the images have been captured with the help of a Nikon L120 along the Mumbai-Pune National Highway without the help of any tri-pod.

Excuse me for the editing as it has been done solely by an amatuer like me in paint.

Thank you...

thank you nature for letting me capture this and thanks to my friends...crazy friends for accompanying me to the slope of hell in the middle of the night...climbing and climbing by riding the bikes up the 70degree inclination with deep valleys on both sides..you all rock !

plan was to meet up at panvel McD and proceed further..

There was a pile up of cagers at the Octroi Naka! The Wagon R was damaged very badly!

Luckily no one was hurt..we were 2mins late to see it live...but we definitely saw the expressions on the faces of all the ladies in that car..pretty zonked !

On the vashi bridge..

I have mostly been riding but riding pillion for a change was good ! I got to click pictures and riding pillion on the RE was truly royal...the thump got me amazed as always it has never failed to ! It was rock steady even after 100kmph speeds

Deepan was laready waiting for us at the McD..

By the time we left it was already dark and we took our small halt at the JNPT Bridge...

The group at the toll-naka just ahead of panvel..

Our T-man

We all re-united at the junction just before the entry of the Mumbai-Pune expressway...

the angel-eye..

the usual traffic on the expressway just at the start of the ghat

We reached lonavala and had some good food while we waited for other pune members to join in

After dinner we headed towards Kamshet..

In lonavala City
