since MG will be out of a lot of things for the near future I am taking it upon me to complete the logs.
The pics are not processed so please pardon if many of you feel they are not usual "MG" style
The log would be in two parts.1st written by MG till the time we parted at jorabat & from than separate sections for his & my journey.
Day 1:
I’m an explorer more than a tourer so naturally an unknown place attracts me more than any known place which might be more beautiful and the end of the day. So a place like Arunachal had always been my dream destination and was right there at the top to do list in India.
Tried doing it back in 2009 but due to some last minute emergency had to drop the plan at the last moment.
Just after doing Leh-Spiti last year I knew that next year biggest ride will be a visit to the Land of Rising Sun.
Also north-east is the only part of the country where I haven’t travelled at all.
Making a plan for Arunachal is not easy as except for a few known destinations there is hardly any information around.
But I could come up with a plan covering the length and breadth of Arunachal and also adding few places from Assam and Meghalaya. Nitin (DK) will again be my ride partner for the biggest ride of 2011
We started our ride on the auspicious occasion of Diwali and flied down to Guwahati while our bikes were shipped earlier. Stayed at one of our close friend Ankit’s place and celebrated Diwali with them.

Thank you DK for finally starting the log. I will send the high res pictures to you that I have processed till date
Day 2:
After a lot of pampering by Ankit’s family we could start from Guwahati only by 12 the next day. Start from Guwahati was smooth and I was pleasantly surprised to see the well maintained tarmac of NH52. The ride was beautiful through the numerous fields, water bodies, green cover for which Assam is famous for.
Assam is divided between two halves crisscrossed by Brahmaputra which is the lifeline of Assam. While NH52 runs on the upper half of Assam starting from Guwahati going all the way to Saikhoa Ghat which is the entry point of Arunachal at the far end, NH37 runs on the lower half running between Goalpara to Tinsukia passing cities like Guwahati, Nagaon,Tezpur, Jorhat on way.
Stay for the night was at Balipara a small town 20kms ahead of Tezpur and 30km before Bhalukpong the entry point of Arunachal.
