Hi friends!
I made it [8D]. Reached back yesterday evening at 8:30pm.
AMAZING is the word to describe the feeling.. Ive almost acheived star-status here in the office [}]
About me, I'm not tired at all. And the machine is fine, Ill post the details later.. have given her for servicing today.
Hmm, about the trip, I shall be writing a log soon. In short....
Left Hyderabad at 3:30pm on Friday, the 14th for Nagpur (got terribly late but didnt want to postpone the day), reached Nagpur at 1 am. Next stop Sagar.. thought of going to at least Jhansi but fell short because of BAD roads!! NH-26 is just not the road to be on.. pun intended coz for many kms I had to ride on the dirt track!
The last day I did Sagar to Gurgaon via Faridabad and reached on Sunday at 7 pm.
Spent 4 days, and started on Friday, the 21st... got 2 punctures fixed withing 20 kms of home and was still withing 50 kms at 11 am in the morning.. could do only Gwalior that day. But that was a blessing in disguise coz there in the hotel I met a guy who advised me to go by NH3 and go to Nagpur via Bhopal.
So, I heeded his advice.. had to go around 80 kms extra overall but got saved from riding on the craters and risking a lot. The roads were terrific and I did 650 kms that day and the next too when I did Betul to Hyderabad via Nagpur.
Took snaps on the return journey but camera stopped working in Betul just when I was about to click a heavenly sunrise. Shall get them available soon.
Rest I saw quite a lot of armed policemen and Naxals on the route to Hyderabad from the AP border.. [}] and well I was thinking.. this was the stretch I passed in the night when I was going towards Nagpur...
In all, sexy trip.. Folks freaked out, brother was happy, and I finally got my girlfriend a bike ride.. (now you know....)
Bike averaged around 35kmpl.. Great machine on the highway, it was all stock.. no extra fittings and no seat mods, and I am quite fit with of course a little pain.. a sweet reminder now of the journey..
Rest as soon as I free myself from the humdrums of the office life.
Regards,
Shashank

lol, she accompanied you??

btw, I'm curious to your mom's response :-) Long bike trips are known to induce rapid hallucinogenation in women of advanced age. I know :P

Amazing trip dude, bring on the pics!

Mom was the coolest....
And Dad had done things like this in his time too so no real heart sinking moments!
The pics would be available soon. The trip was not very scenic so more than the scenery it was the feeling of the road underneath and no soul in sight which is remembered. Waiting for the time when I can pen down the experience.
And well, she could not sit on the bike for more than a few trips in Delhi but well its worth another trip to Delhi!!! Hahaa..
[}]
[^] hmmm....
Long trips rock!
