            I just overheard a piece of conversation that passing through Maharashtra requires a permit. I have driven long distance mostly on the Delhi-Kanpur route in a private vehicle and never experienced any checking of similar nature.

              OK looks like I am going to leave tomorrow morning ie Sunday, the 9th day of January 2005 [8D]
              The route would be:
              Hyd-Nag-Lakhnadon [NH-7]
              Lakhnadon-Jhansi [NH-26]
              Jhansi-Gwalior [NH-75]
              Gwalior-Agra [NH-3]
              Agra-Palwal [NH-2]
              Palwal-Gurgaon via Sohna
              I shall contact you bunny, once I reach Delhi.

                jus carry the original documents including :
                1)PUC
                2)Registration copy
                3)insurance
                4)proof of ownership
                5)license

                for ur first pt , try to get in touch with www.60kph.com
                those guys will know abt the req of ne permits (if any) for crossin states. but i dont think ne such req is needed

                y doin agra-gurgoan? do u hv to visit gurgaon or doin dis route jus like that ? if u wanna do gurgaon , u can do agra-faridabad and from faridabad take the faridabad-gurgaon road

                            U don't need anything as this is a pvt vehicle.
                            just carry all the documents with u as bunny said.
                            u might be checked at inter-state border, tht also only if some routine checking drive is going on there. else u don't need anything.

                                he has reached delhi safely
                                he left on fri evenin.. nagpur for the night
                                2nd day was till Sagar (coz of roads)
                                last day - all d way to delhi (gurgaon)
                                will be meetin up wid him tomm
