Damn world peace, damn the rising temperature and all that crap about green house gases and damn the dwindling reserves of petrol, if it is the last liter I want to be the one to burn it. Let Mayawati go to the deepest crevice in hell and take along with her all those fraud and wannabe bikers. People call this idiotic, stupid or plain simple foolish but I believe there is a thin line between risk and fun and I want to walk it.
Never wanted to convey any message through this trip and neither did I. Simply want to call this the MOTHER OF ALL ROADTRIPS.
The MAN: Charsi, Meetu
The MACHINE: Pulsar 180, Pulsar 150
The TOOLS: Cramster saddle bags, Firefox riding jacket, Alpinestar gloves and an iPhone, GQ all the way (Probably the only good thing Atal Bihari managed in his whole life)
Always wanted to do this at the end of 2 years in IIM Bangalore and the preparation took the better part of a fortnight. Bluffed parents, secured armor, bought equipment, planned my route and convinced my cousin. My longtime friend who has been an accomplice in all my escapades was ready to take chance with my parents having her happiness in case of a mishap and ME and my 180 were ready to fire for the next 5 days.
1st DAY- Bangalore to Pune (900 km): started at 0300 with 2 cans of red bull, 40kgs of luggage, red eyes and a hungry stomach. Nostalgia overtook me with me passing out of the famed gates at Bannerghatta road and with it the sweet memories of the last 2 years. NH4 rivals any autobahn in Germany and the speed one maintains is governed by the size of his balls rather than the size of the engine. All those dead souls who say India is not the place to go touring can burn their DLs and continue with Indian railways. Did 900km in 15 hours flat and the Pulsar consumed 1 litre of engine oil, 20 lt of petrol, broken race cone and a gruff sounding engine was what the pulsar had to show for it.
2nd DAY- Pune to Ahmedabad (700km):
3rd DAY- Ahmedabad to Ajmer (600km): After a well deserved rest woke up to a cool morning and a long day ahead. The drive through Rajasthan was straight out of a book. Deserted highways with perfect surface allowed us to rip the engines right to the speed when u could hear them bounce of their seat. More engine oil top ups and butter milk on the way saw us safely to Udaipur where we saw the Lake palace, Udaipur is right in the middle of a beautiful mountain range and the NH8 was a great place to lay the bikes onto their feeler bolts. Left NH8 to hit the best stretch of the trip, NH76 from Udiapur to Chittorgarh is probably the only place in the country where you would wish for a cruise control on a motorcycle. In a span of 80km we saw 10 trucks, 5 bikers and 2 cows, and all this on a 4 laned GQ makes one wish for more horses.
4th DAY- Ajmer to Delhi (500 km):
