Default Anglo-Saxon Church visit and a ride in the countryside.

Hi Guys,
I've been out and about over the end of last week and the weekend.

Sal and I went to a local historic site in Escomb in County Durham. The 1st pics are of an Anglo-Saxon church which dates from the 8th century. Totally fascinating place. The ancient grave / headstones are amazing to look at.
Overall we've just been dotting around here and there as the mood takes us but we've covered around 400-500 miles over those days out. Pics uploaded over a couple of posts.
The other pics (river, countryside, phonebox etc were taken near Middleton on Tees and in North Yorkshire. Hope you enjoy.
I'm starting back on the university work shortly (dissertation semester AAAARRGH) and will no doubt be asking you all a load of questions.
Catch ya's soon. Hope you enjoy the photos.

Default #2 Anglo-Saxon Church visit and a ride in the countryside.

2nd lot of pics.

Oh... and meant to say, Sal got me a "Dogcam" DV500 bullet video camera for my birthday with a setup to fit to the bike. Should have that done in the next wee while and will post vids on YouTube of UK roads/countryside and rideouts with links here. That is of course assuming I can get over my technophobia!!

Lovely stuff Olias. Thanks for sharing these pictures. Now, only if we could get a detailed write-up too.

Looks lovely, eerie and 'alive' with history. The kind of place I would want to be. Reminds me of the church in McLeodganj here in India.

There are a lot of Anglo Saxon churches in India. Though none of them will date back to the 8th century. Thanks Olias.

As for your work, feel free to throw the questions. You have my contact.
