A North of England write up with videos
Hi Folks,
Thanks for all the comments and birthday good wishes. Desideep's a naughty lad, but sharp as a tack. LOL.
Moheed reminded me that I do need to do a write up and I've tried a few times but I get timed-out or I inadvertently shut the wrong tab and lose the work.
A write up.... Hmmmm... I tend to not have a destination firmly in mind when I go out for a ride. I think of an area and have a run around it.
My GF lives in Bishop Auckland where I'm now in County Durham about 30 miles south west of Newcastle upon Tyne. In and around both areas, we have some stunning country and roads. I'll have a wee look on YouTube for some on bike videos to help us along the way here and hopefully you should get a better idea of what I have been and am talking about. The videos aren't mine but they do show the roads around where I am and where we ride pretty well. Hopefully, I'll get my camera mounted shortly and take you on runs with me.... if that's a good thing. LOL.
I've posted a number of pics from runs without a great deal of info so hopefully this North East England overview will redress that a little.
I've posted pics of The Hartside Cafe where bikers meet en masse. This video shows it so well.

I thnk Hartside is around 40 miles from Bishop and about ten miles out from the cafe, is where I took (or... Sal did) these short videos (posted before).
The first is me making a racket on the Harley.

The second is me (both taken on a small digi cam, so the quality's weaker) making a racket with the Harley (LOL).... but with a couple guys at the end on SBK's heading to Hartside passing. Awesome sound as they opened up, shut off, braked in and powered on. Loved it.

That's the moorland country between Bishop and the West, or Cumbria. As you ride up to Hartside from Cumbria on a good mix of some seriously tight and very sweeping bends this, is how it is....

If it can be got on a good dry day it's a stunning road to be on. The Hartside Cafe does all the usual grub we enjoy over here from a burger to a full roast chicken dinner and a cracking mug of tea or coffee. Got to say tho', the tea at the Delhi Dhaba was just as good.
Bishop is a bit inland from the east coast by about 20 - 30 miles to the sea and always worth a ride there. A previous posting I did was of a ride to Whitby for the 'essential' fish n chips. This video shows a ride in the area by (I think by the guy in a previous vid).

A wee bit bouncy that video!
To the North is Newcastle and Northumberland, a truly beautiful county. Many a ride out goes that way and a favourite place to head for a brew and a bite is a smal town called Rothbury about 60 + miles away. In the next video, a rideout by local bikers from a biker friendly hotel in Whitley Bay near Newcastle to Rothbury (or just a few minutes worth of the scene at the bar and a bit on the roads). This event was to launch a new ale brewed by a biker who owns a brewery (lucky sod). The ale was named "Born to be Mild", a nice play on words.

Northumberland has a massive natural heritage in the Cheviot Hills and history which is documented back to the Vikings, Anglo-Saxons and Romans. Here's a tourist's taster of the land.... The music in this video is excellent typical folk music played on Northumbrian pipes.

A cracking video follows of the North York Moors with some chilled out classical sounds.

We do get to see much of this on our rides and it's a privilege to have a lot of this on the doorstep nearly. I hope this gives you a better idea of the areas I'm sending pics of and hopefully my own future vids, if I get round to fitting the cam this weekend... or we might just head out and ride...and do the fitting another time.
History... it's just one bloody thing after the other!

Bike video cam fitted.
Just fitted the bike video cam and will be heading out tomorrow at some point for a run. I've no idea what the results will sound or look like but will edit what I can and put on YouTube soon as.
North Yorkshire's looking good for the day so that's the favourite destination at the moment.

^^ Will be waiting, and I am sure we all would really like it.
Appreciate the effort.
@DCS: Last sunday was Jim's BDay...I'd rather be riding my motorcycle thinking about God than sitting in church thinking about my motorcycle.
Ride often, ride well, have fun.
