Well I have used Bajaj Allianz & ICICI Prudential in the last 4 years.
I have had no instances regarding insurance as never had to claim.
The premium was approx 1400 for the Bajaj insurance & 1700 for ICICI as it was a 3rd party comprehensive insurance.

I got the oriental insurance when i took my bike. But its office was a bit far from my home. So i thought of switching to ICICI since its premium can even be paid at a reliance fresh market. So i dint paid the premium of the previous one & it was lapsed. After that i went to the nearest reliance fresh market & when i enquired about the premium & value i came to know that the oriental was offering more value for my bike & its premium was also less. After that i did repented about it since i had lapsed a much better insurance for my bike & downgraded on it by paying a higher premium.

That's why i had started this thread so that everyone can choose things wisely by having the info about it.

Thanks.

Hey Madhav, even my bike is insured with oriental insurance. I forgot to pay my premium and my insurance is expired. I thought of going for icici lombard as it can be bought online also. My bike is just a year old. Lombrad gave me a quote of 1300 for getting my bike insured by them. Can you please explain why lombard is bad when compared to oriental?
what is the difference in premium between both of them?

The difference is not too much. The oriental premium was 925 while the icici was charging 1300. Moreover the value offered was very much similar.

The premium for Lombard is higher than other companies.

Go to Online Insurance, Car Insurance India, Compare Health, Travel & Life Insurance Quotes, Bike Insurance India and check premiums of various companies. The process requires 2 days and all policies are available online. Though slower than ICICI Lombard (which is instant), this comes out to be cheaper even after addition of Rs.100/- service charge for using Online Insurance, Car Insurance India, Compare Health, Travel & Life Insurance Quotes, Bike Insurance India.

ICICI lombard was charging me premium of Rs.1800 for my 2nd year of insurance (Insured value 68k). So I tried the comparison tool on the aforementioned website and found a premium of Rs.1300 for Tata AIG (Insured value 76k). Got it done from them online (At an extra charge of 100 bucks.) The process took 2 days to complete and I got a PDF copy of the cover note on my email. The next week, and the week after that, the cover-note and the policy were received at my residence.

P.S.: Bajaj Allianz had refused me Insurance renewal as I had 2 insurance claims so they did not send me renewal notice(contrary to usual behaviour) and I went over for renewal only after a few hours post policy expiry (1/2 day late).

Thanks for the link. I checked it, and ya TATA AIG is offering a low premium of around 1000rs for my one year old rtr 180. I checked BAJAJ ALLIANZ and they are quoting 1200 for the same

Default Insurace related query

Hi all,

I did not find a dedicated thread for insurance claims, hence I have created one as I have a query.

My Enfield bullet STD 350 CI petrol tank has been left with a one deep scratch on the petrol tank and a slight scratch on the front mudguard in one of the parking lot. I have a comprehensive insurance that expires in the third week of january 2011.

1)I am wondering if the touchup jobs for these can be covered under insurance. please do share your thoughts and experiences.

2) Also will it be a better thing to continue with the comprehensive insurance or go for the third party ( considering the fact that the insurer may value my bike for a very low amount since it is no longer in production, which is contrar to the second hand market rate of 1 lakh plus for immaculate bikes).

3) My present insurance is from IFFCO tokyo and I am not very please with their customer service. Please do write about your personal preferred insurer and why. My fathers car was covered under comprehensive insurance by TATA insurance and it was a nice experience.
