Advice is a form of nostalgia.
Dispensing it is a way of fishing the past from the disposal, wiping it off, painting over the ugly parts and recycling it for more than it's worth.

Guess the folks are too frustrated with the services to even talk about it. Anyone from bajaj on the forums??

I've been to Sai Service in Borivali.

        The Staff is friendly.
Service is good but sometimes they seems a bit foolish & irritating.

Like today I asked them for Refilling Rear Shockers Gas and they advised me to change both the shockers.
When I laughed & made fun of changing then he made the weird face & slowly said "We don't have that Machine".

Then other staff member whos now a bit friendly as he knows me a bit.
He said recharge is 400rs each (800rs for both) & new shocker full set for some 1300-1400rs with Labor.

        Overall its nice.

        @pixantz
Where in Mumbai are you located buddy ?

        I'm in Kandivali. !

            Pulsar 220 ?

Mumbai is also a very very dust prone area !
Bike gets dirty in 1-2 days of Teflon & wash !
Plus, Bajaj charges 800rs for 3 times (now 4).
Do you know any alternative ?

Kandivali - Malad are not so far
If free lets meet tomorrow ?

I'll get my Bike wash & Polish too !

I too stay in Kandivali and the guys at Sai service borivali are decent...well sometimes they do skip stuff but if u make ur presence felt at the SVC and they know u are watching their work then the bike will be serviced fine...a Mechanic called AVINASH is great and he does my p200NS servicing...gives good advice and does the job properly...but they guys there are adamant...they wont listen to you for some small things...like i have completed just about 1000kms(2 services done) on my NS since my daily riding isnt much...they are adamant that they will not clean my air filter till i do a total of 5000kms...

For washing and waxing i'd recommend everyone to do it yourself...

No i have a Zma right now, but booking myself a p220 this week if things go as planned! Yes, mumbai is dusty. But you can always get your ride washed at the regular service centers. Not all of them do bikes. I get mine done at goregaon and then my mechanic applies our favourite Formula 1 wax polish. Been using it since 6 years now. Personally i dont believe in the "teflon" stuff. Just washing properly and good 'ol wax polish of a good brand is the best way to go! But yeah, thats my personal view.
im not free today but yeah sure we'll catch up some other time

                P. S. I do my own polishing most of the times and always have a tin of my trusted Formula 1 always at home

                  Hmmm

6years of usage is a very good experience.
                  Washing must be 100.
                  How much for polish ?

I'm going Sai Center, Borivali in 30 min.
Can look for wax too if good shine with rubbing material + price !

The Teflon in Delhi was 400rs for 3 times in a year @ Bajaj service.
The shine use to be like Brand new bioe from every inch of Engine to alloys !
And stays for a month easily.

In Mumbai, their teflon seems like cheap Polish for a week hardly & more than double is the price.

As for the air filter, 5000km interval seems ok. The paper air filters dont need very regular cleaning and the lesser you blow forced air into it, the better. After using blower on it for about 4-5 times, it should be ideally changed for best performance

I agree they are like that.
And small things if you mention to have look that's having problem.
They wont look, simply ask u to change it.

I'm bad at polishing myself :/
Don't get the shine coz I can't run for that long.

Washing rate as of today is 50/- for plain shampoo wash and 80/- for diesel wash, where diesel is first used to take off all the grime and then a liberal shampoo wash. The svc guys dont do any of this.
Formula 1 costs about 400/- and you can get it at Hypercity Malad or at any good paint shop which stocks vehicle paint. Most car painters use Formula1 for their polishing needs. It comes with its own sponge applicator. Enjoy😊

                          The washing price seems good.
I have to go Sai bajaj in 5-10 min. But still don't feel like going. But the outside polish done by local guys makes more to regret later. :/

If you're comfortable with svc and like their service, then nothing should stop you. Else you will always have a doubt in the back of your head. I read it somewhere: ALWAYS DO WHAT MAKES YOU HAPPY. Ha ha

I had recently done my first service at Sai service at lower parel. The experience wasn't bad but it wasn't that good either. I was charged Rs 600 for engine oil and adding some additives. My bike was returned to me in 20 minutes. All they did was just washing the bike and lubricating it.
