If so, Zma s headlamp doesnt run from the alternator. So,the bulb can extract as much power it wants from the battery. And hence it would perform well.
ZMA runs on DC is what I know.
But I was talking about Unicorn.

@Inder
Dint know that.

So, if u just plonk in the Night Breaker, u wont get the desired/possible output cos it is running on a lesser wattage!
Oh ok.. so what do you guys suggest. Dont want the whole expensive option of changing the whole setup to a DC. Just want a good high beam output for the night drive and occassionaly touring. Suggestions??

If u are still on the stock headlamp bulb, i advise u to check out with an after market bulb like say Philips/Osram, without touching any of the electricals.

If u are satisfied, well and good,if not u have to touch the electricals IMO.

HID's are not advisable as Bengalooru cops are fond of them

Just visit JC road man, u ll stumble upon what u want.

well the stock bulb on the RTR is a Osram 35w (well at least it was on mine). The reflector on the RTR is excellent, its just that we need a higher wattage bulb. Im running a Halonix ultra blue right now, and its not as good as the stock bulb insofar as light output, but the color is nice. Me and naren need help from someone who is good with RTR/Apache electricals. I was looking in that thread about the Unicorn with the DC system and i have idea whats going on .

Inder.. need more clarifications. Will call you up sometime later for it
The reason i dont want to go to JC Road and search for options is that it becomes an uninformed choice - which usually doesnt turn out to be good

Default Headlight Upgrade - Bullet

Hi friends

I am new here and would like to share with all that it’s a wonderful forum. I am new to biking and bought an Electra with self (Standard 14A battery) and disc sometime back. There is no special purpose of buying the bike as I already have a Scorpio and Accent for my daily travel / touring. I love to take care of my machines and I hope to have a similar relationship with by Bull too.

Currently I am facing a problem and hope all experts here will be able to suggest some solution. I am really dissatisfied with the puny 35W headlamp of the bull and plan to upgrade it. The problem is that the holder is some typical type and no normal bulb (say H4) can fit into it. I have tried to search but couldn’t find any halogen above 35W for the same. Then I thought of installing HID but they are also available in H4 for bikes and I am unable to understand how will an H4 be fitted on to the reflector.

I request all fellow Bulleteers who have upgraded their headlamps or installed HID to help me out with this.

Happy thumping
Amit.
