you bajaj guys seem to have lot of options,
for fz owners looking to mod ur bike ,-
i have fitted my fz with 40t sprockets from r15,,fz stock-38t.
the initial pick up as soon as ur blip the throttle is very good now, engine revs more quickly all the way to 5k rpm, bfore it used to struggle to revv,
plus 2 sprockets is more than enough to give ur bike good pick up.dont go over that .
42 t from r15 race kit will also be released soon.

So, R15 and FZ's sprockets are interchangeable? Thanks for sharing the info Anirudh...

You mean "2 teeth" I think. I agree that 2 teeth are enough, given the FZ's torque & the mileage it gives.

How do i check whether my clutch plates are ok or worn out ???
Even i have a similar problem with my uni, it redlines pretty fast and doesnt cross 110. Any suggsetions for me. I run on a 15/42 stock setup.

Signs of Clutch wear:-->

1. Less acceleration from standstill...
2. High revving, but top speed is less...
3. Less overall power, with specially the top rpm's not powerful like earlier,

Clutch Wear happens due to misuse (wheelies, road burnouts, jerky riding, etc),
constant city riding (in heat, or constant gear changing),
excessive tightening of clutch lever wire, which leaves the clutch engaged slightly,
or just plain Clutch "Ageing" (like after 20-30k kms of running).

If your speedo is working fine, then it does seem your clutch plates have a problem.
But I suggest you use them for some 2-3 k kms more. Only when the power loss is very obvious, should the plates be replaced. That's it...

Hi Samarth!

I own a Fazer 150cc, the top speed which i have reached is 115 kmph .
I want to increase my bike's intiall as well as the top speed!

Thought of changing the rear sprocket to R15's will it increase the intiall & top end ?

Pls do suggest wat to do ?

Thanx for the reply budd.
Totally agreed.
but a query still remains, i want a bttr top end as u know my bike gets stuck at 110 currently as compared to the 120+ it used to do earlier(say some few thousand kms back.)
iv changed the clutch plates assembly just few months bck, including a new stock air filter along with the tuning of the carb and new chain/ sprocket. but my problem still persists.
I hope u wont mind helpin out, I appreciate it neways.

Hey are u sure the carb has been tuned properly? One of the reasons of losing top speed is running on an AFR that is too 'lean'.

I am not sure if the R15's sprocket is a direct fit to your Fazer, but assuming it is, remember the simple rule of thumb in sprocketing
1. Larger Rear Sprocket = More Acceleration + Lesser Top End
2. Smaller Rear Sprocket= Lesser Acceleration + More Top End

So, if the R15's rear sprocket is larger than the Fazer's, (AND IF IT FITS on the Fazer) then you'll get more of acceleration and less of top end than what you're getting out of the Fazer. In case the R15's rear sprocket is smaller, then you'll get more top end and less of acceleration.

Also, more than a 3 teeth change in sprocket size warrants a change of the chain as well.

Default Help me

Hi..I want to change back sprocket of my pulsar ug3 from stock 44T to 42T but the real problem is the sprocket is 4 hole setup and every 42T sprocket is 6 holed which i encountered .I am really confused which 42T sprocket will fit to my bike...any one plz help me which bikes sprocket would be a direct fit...

Btw i went to Rolon distributer and enquired about the sprocket models (F63(third link in bajaj manual) & F69(2nd link in bajaj manual)).The manuals provided on 1st page showed they are 4 holed but actually they are six holed.I personally saw the sprocket kits.So some of the information provided in the manuals provided on 1st page contains some error

i swapped my RTR's front sprocket with a 14T one ,ie, 1 teeth more...but it had made a huge difference in riding pleasure.. Atleast 4-5 km incerase in each gear and the vibes at around 60kmph have gone. Didnt check the top whack but am sure it ll also be more . Now i can cruise smoothly at 60 and the speed in 5th gear at 4k rpm is now 58 compared to 52 earlier.
