I partially agree with you here.

I disagree with the former part that you should think about sprocketing if your ride is modded to pump more power than stock. Sprocketting actually lets you change the characteristic of the bike without doing any power mods. It is one of simplest mods that one can do. A simple change in the sprockets ratio can use the same pwer output unit to exhibit different characteristics.

But, you are right that sprocketting is actually going to hit the balance between acceleration & top end which is provided in the stock bike setups from the company.

@leon
that was for my post that got accidently deleted instead of the other
Yes its a simplest mod you can do.
But still the bikes we ride dont make enough power to do justice to gearing mods.

Front Sprocket Spleen Size

Guys, spleen size is the size measurement of a front sprocket's shaft hole and pitch, and thus it helps us to determine the inter-compatibility of front sprockets among different bikes.

The below EXAMPLE front sprocket has a Spleen size of 20/17.5/5:

Guys, most Indian front sprockets (from .428 chain pitch) come in 3 shaft sizes:

20/16/4: This includes YZF R15, Fiero F2, RTR 160, Pulsar 150 and 180 UG3, Max R, Discover 125cc, etc.

17/14/4: All models of TVS Victor, Victor GX/ GL/ GLX, Star, Centra, etc.

17/13/4: Discover 112cc (Mar '06 Update), CT100 (after July '05), etc.

So, the front sprockets are mostly interchangeable within their spleen sizes and not beyond it. More info can be added here, but it is not available at the moment...

Moreover, changing gearbox sprocket also ensures, that you can use the same chain..

But here, as you all know more teeth = more top speed, opposite of rear sprocket rule.

the 200 stock comes with 38 teeth rear sprocket!!!!!!!
am running a 200 bore piston with a 44 teeth rear sprocket(stock 180g3)......

And is any bajaj chain sprocket set a direct to my 180ug3/?
@samarth are you sure if you can get only the gearbox sprocket?? f yes, then more gear box teeth and lesser rear teeth should be awesome!
like a 17 teeth gear box and 42 teeth rear sprocket....

Dude, you maybe running a different bore for your 180, but this comparison won't mean anything. I mean, only sprockets don't affect gearing, there is the bike's gearbox also. So, 38 or 44 at rear won't differ, if internal gearing is opposite ...

and yes, one can get only the Gearbox Sprocket. My dealer friend in Ajmer told me this.

I think if you use Eliminator's 16 teeth or XCD 125's 17 teeth front sprocket, you can adjust the chain, You don;t need to change it.

I don't think this would be much useful. Only the gearbox sprocket can be changed to modify gearing ...
I mean, leave the rear as it is.

Your overall objective seems to be more top end power. Then just increase gearbox sprocket teeth. But carefully, since it is smaller, even 1 teeth can change gearing by 10% ...

I suppose you have a UG2, since in my P180 UG3, some rpm shows 86...

For this, I have a good news. I'm going to change my P180 UG3's front sprocket.

Then, we'll discuss speeds in each k-rpm in 5th gear. And then, I'll suggest "exactly" what size you need...

I'm not sure of this, but you can get it checked. Service Centres always have a lot of old spare parts lying here & there. Atleast, my city's SC sure has ...
