With the 37T you would roughly be doing about 3kmph more in every rpm. If you like the gearing of the 220 Fi then go for this. 36T wont be that bad, but you would definitely feel the drop in acceleration. I would be going for the 36T in about 15K kms when my current chain sprocket wears out!

If it is then I should go for a teeth change in the front because in this case I wouldnt have to change my chain which though has done 23k but the mech says it is fine. Apart from this any other pro and con between changing the front sprocket or rear sprocket.

Can you help me with this??
I have a Hero Honda CBZ*(2006).The bike speed recently seems to have slowed down.Any possible solutions?Does using a chain spocket of Hero Honda CD 100 SS in CBZ help increase speed? I really want some more speed in my machine

Also when it comes to change of front it needs to calculated on many things as , on P150 that had 14T in the front was fitted with 15T the initial accelation was far better than any same grade bike and could easily match 180cc, but a max of 95kmph it reached, not beyond that and then ceased! Be Careful if you are trying your own stunts! Quote:

You said, 1 teeth change in front sprocket = 3 teeth changes in the rear sprocket. Yes, It is exactly equal, ONLY if your Final Drive (Rear Spr. Teeth/ Front Spr. Teeth) = 3. For example, in a 14/42 teeth setup. For all other Indian setups, it is "Approximately" 3, many times. For Example, in HH ZMA, it is 14/40, which comes out to be 2.85... Yes, you can go for a Front sprocket change to see a good difference. 23,000 kms? Well, I hope you must have changed the "chain lock" once, when it was at about 10k-15k... If not changed, do so now. Still, Changing front spr. also reduces the costs involved, and again, Chain can be adjusted at most times. However, expert racers and other enthusiasts prefer changing Rear Sprocket, because it gives them more choice and freedom. In other words, it allows them to make "minute" changes... As far as possible, You should choose a similar hardness material in all Chains and Sprockets. That's because, a Softer Sprocket will wear out itself quickly, while harder one will wear out/ damage the chain... No, There are no other major Pro's and Con's, except the ones I mentioned above. -------- Guys, You can use this site to calculate Gearing Speeds, via Bike Specs:--> Gearing Commander: Motorcycle Gearing Ratio Sprocket RPM Speed Chain Calculator Last edited by Samarth 619; 08-10-2009 at 11:50 PM. |
