Smile Yamaha FZ-16 or Pulsar 180 DTSi ???

guys help me (actually my friend) out
he's so confused.
he's going to get a bike as his b'day gift at around middle of next month.
although he's very much attracted towards the fz-16, still, confusion stays between what should he select finally.. the fz-16 or pulsar 180 (the two that he shortlisted, mostly coz of the close price range)

i didn't find any comparison between these specific two here... among the recent threads

so if you people can help (which i know you definitely would as i saw so many helpful threads here.. (btw, i'm a new member to this community, and personally own a p220, which i did suggest him, but it's l'il out of range for his wallet))

appreciation in advance

tell us a bit about the person wanting to buy the bike...like his needs and his wants out of the bike...power acceleration mileage feel etc...only then can u get proper responses...

and fz16 is jus about 4k cheaper than the p220....so if he is considering the fuzzy then should definitely look at the p220 also....

Yes, if you are just considering price, then there are many bikes in or around the same price range. RTR 160 FI, RTR 180, P180, P220 ..
So depending on your frnd's requirement he can pick one.

Personally RTR 180 or P220, is the best VFM for money while FZ is the best looker, nice/smooth machine.

it depends on his needs and riding style...you have a lot of choices in the price bracket.RTR180,P220 and even P180 are great VFM buys...but FZ too appeals a lot due to it's styling and it is also a good city bike

Smile

first of all.. thanks to all who replied

now, i had a talk with him again.. as i asked what he wanted:

• he just needs a bike for the sake of having (and riding) a bike (is it just tashan ?)

• mainly he wants looks

• and performance

mileage, he said, is a factor.. but also said that he can negotiate

and the limit his wallet can offer is around 70K. (the extra 5k if he can afford he'll definitely think of p220, so we just want to know about fz and p180 here)

and if it can help, he's around 5 foot and 6 inches

Then(height wise), my vote is for RTR 180 and FZ 16. Though you can ride any bike with any height(almost) ... but these are the best handler bikes around, so the ideal ones if it is the first bike for your freind. In those:
- if he has more importance for power over looks/style then RTR
o.w. FZ16

That's all what I can suggest you.

my vote too goes for the RTR 180 and FZ...P180 too is good, but it usually gets overshadowed by the A180 in most discussions...If the priority is looks, the FZ it is.RTR 180 or P180 if he wants a little more dough out of his bike for the same price...

first of all, i don't know why but he's not considering a TVS

and even i've suggested him the p180 as a VFM

surely FZ for the looks.. which still has caught his mind so much
