Hi Don't want to start flame wars Yamaha Vs Bajaj.. both are purpose built machines... FZ is a street fighter and P180 is a sports commuter.

Since, i own an FZ kindly have a look at my liners for the bike on the link below:
Yamaha FZ-16

This may help you decide which one will suit you the best. BTW i am 5'10 and for me FZ's seating position is ideal so i really don't think you will have any problem as per your requirements of riding under 15 kms.

Without any doubt yes, Pulsars will certainly get upgrades around Diwali, I believe it's worth the wait if one can do that.

Then FZ it is!Many have toured on it but achieving the top end is "sluggish".It is great around corners and you wont feel that it is omnipresent(Unlike pulsars).
Just my opinion

FZ anytime over P180,

Reasons,

Inspires more confidence in every loop hole, tangle and corner within city traffic.

To my eyes, FZ looks 100000 times better than any traditional Pulsar anytime, even after 3 yrs. (But again looks are subjective)

Monoshock, a new riding experience, ride it only then you will understand.

Bullet proof durability in every part of the bike a trademark aspect of any Yamaha (Scarce in Bajaj etc)

P180 any time.. it's got such an excellent ride and all that pickup comes handy at traffic lights. Good usable power on highways.. decent mileage and dirt cheap spares, it's tried & tested.
