Hi,
I'll be turning 18 in a few months and i've zeroed in on a few bikes so that i can order one soon and get it delivered sometime around my birthday. ![]() FZ16, GS150R, Dazzler, Apache RTR160 are my choices. My requirements are: 1. good service and long lasting 2. decent performance 3. decent looks 4. mileage over 45kmpl in city. other than dazzler i think all the other bikes above have very good looks so that i suppose is taken care of (dazzler looks too edgy and overdone imo). oh one more thing! i have ridden a bike just twice before (platina and apache) so i'm not exactly good at it. i have sort of got the hang of the clutch and accelerator but i'm not yet completely used to it. i'm riding a 20yr old Kinetic Honda DX right now so you guys probably understand the kind of complex i have riding on the streets and going to college!

as i told to shelrock
my say it has to be a GS150R........... its the most refined engine i ever rode........ its uber smooth..... gives mileage around 58-60kmpl.... looks like a beast ....check it out in realityeven though its the heaviest among 150cc seg it gives top speed of 127kmph(verified by me and Mach50) without mods.... no vibrations even at 120kmph+ speeds is rock stable at such high speeds....... is a perfect bike for touring......(its 2 G2G old) can do cornering well....... ![]() one of the best looking consoles..... can smoke out with the likes of R15,karizma,zmr,pulsar220.....(forget about other 150cc bikes........they are nowhere in picture.........as experrienced from my latest lavasa G2G....) gives you a feel of riding something big...... its heavy still you can stunt with this one.....Mach50 has posted a video in GS ownership section...... three modes to drive according to your necessaties....... if you want mileage the ECO mode if you want power like that of karizma's then POWER mode if you want both then GOD mode(that's what people call it) and you can easily rely on this one for 10 years!!! drawbacks........ since its heavy it will take time for you to handle it........otherwise it glides its way out...... and the only problem which i face is the headlamp....its adequate for city riding but not for highway.........(fix a HID and this is solved.....) All the best for your bike.............and Ride Safe! |

@Satyamzma I personally like the Apache but my friend who owns one says it has maintenance issues in Pune. So I'm a bit skeptical on it. He also told me that the bike starts giving some problems after about 2yrs (low fuel indicator fails, gears are hard and requires changing of some parts). I don't know how he handles his bike so I have no idea how the issues came up. Can you comment on this?I really need to check out the Dazzler in flesh because I haven't seen it on the streets yet. I'll see if it's there at a nearby showroom. I know a guy who owns a GS150R. Seems like a good bike. I didn't ride it but it is quite bulky and huge. The console is really amazing btw. @Maestro That's quite a description. The weight is not an issue. I just have a few questions: Is the engine more refined than the Dazzler? The bike was released just about 2-3yrs ago, can it actually last for 10yrs? Although I'm not too performance oriented, but can it really smoke a R15? I doubt it. Oh and I do ride safely, I always ride my kinetic with a helmet on (it doesn't cross 75km/hr anyway but nonetheless!) and always follow traffic rules.

Dazzler-no looks better performance best mileage
Gs-150-good mileage good performance looks ok not very bad Fz-16 - nice macho looks performance not upto the looks A160 - superb acceleration nice low end and midrange according to my experience better than Fz too good mileage too nice looks overall apache does score but if you are planning to keep your bike for more than 5 years go for dazzler only honda can give a refined reliable engine in that case my next choice would be Gs-150 |

So even if I don't consider FZ and Apache, Dazzler and GS150R seem to be good bikes. Can someone please give the pros and cons of both? I really appreciate the response people. Thanks! |
