Yamaha SZ-R : Kick start is optional . Saw the bike this Sunday .Couldn't have a test ride. On-road price in chennai for SZ-R is around 63k. For the price it's absolute Value for Money. All other 150cc bikes are almost touching 70k here in chennai.
Seats are very comfy for both rider & pillion. Fit & finish is top notch with very good build quality. Tyre's are TVS though .This bike should be a real belter in city with it's immense torque.
All the best
Sam

Thanks Sam..
but any idea, how much would they charge for optional kickstart? (hope it is self + kick and not self/kick...)
anyway, so far, I have been riding bikes with kick start only... so am little skeptical about only self start option... would it be as reliable as kick?

Yup self starter option is as reliable as the kick... as long as you do very basic maintainence of your battery.. i.e. top up and keeping the battery terminals clean, you won't have any problem with the bike. i can vouch for this atleast in Yamaha's case. My FZ has never given me any trouble, except once when the dumb SVC guys forgot to clean the bat terminals during 2nd servicing and after 2 weeks my bike was out of electrical juice!!

Hi Sudeep . It is definitely Self + Kick start. I don't remember the exact cost of optional Kicker but it is definitely in few hundreds only.
Regards,
Sam
