Hi. I'm Sri. 20 yrs old. I'm 5'7,pretty lean and I look something like this(minus the abs
). I'm planning to get bike by this jan or feb. Initially i had Pulsar 180 and Apache 180 in mind. after some extensive research here ( especially this and this thread) and having ridden both the bikes in the past, I decided to go ahead with Apache 180. But recently I started thinking about Bajaj Avenger too. I'v always liked the bike but kept it out of my wishlist considering my physique. I once sat on my friend's avenger and all of them bust out laughing :P. So, can you guys like tell me if its worth going for an avenger over an Apache 180, considering my needs and physical build. I'll mostly be using the bike to get to office on weekdays (which is actually like 15min walk from my place). visit my friends' place which again is not too far away (5-6km max). On weekends i'll probably be traveling about 25-35km (max 50km). And like once in a month or once in 2 months i'm planning to go on long rides of about 500-600kms (maybe on a saddlesore someday ). Since I live in panjim, I don't really need to deal with traffic (since i'm used to chennai traffic, goa traffic is nothing :P). So, coming back to the question again, is it worth going for an Avenger? cos, end of the day i don't' wanna end up enjoying my ride but look like a mosquito sitting on a buffalo. Your suggestions pls. Previous riding experience: Bajaj XCD, TVS Flame, Apache 160, Bajaj Platina, Honda Unicorn. Pulsar 150 and 180, Unicorn and Apache being my favorite. Unicorn for the comfort and Apache for the amazing throttle response, ride posture and the adrenaline rush \m/. Code:
hey there's a code tag here :P Name.text=@"iphone development is fun"

No doubt Avenger is fun to ride, the comfort level is wayyyy up. But, as it is a happy-cruising bike, it may ruin the fun for you as you told that you are an Apache fan who loves the adrenaline rush, throttle response, sporty riding stance and all. Avenger is a total different bike and it is meant for comfortable long rides and some "shaaan-ki-sawaari" in city. I'm not saying that you'll surely going to get that feeling but maybe there's a chance that the different ride which is pleasing you right now may not be the same for longer period as you are a lover of "quick" kind of bikes. Avenger may not allow you to ride to your natural style as you, most probably, are habitual of cutting through the traffic, maneuvering your bike like crazy and all that.
So, if you are going for Avenger, do make sure that you'll not going to regret, missing your previous experiences and love.

You are too confused Dude.First of all don't compare these bikes with each other.RTR180 is a racing/commuting bike while Avenger is in a different league altogether. It is a cruiser bike.If you are more into mile munching then go for Avenger or else RTR180.

. But is apache comfortable enough for really long trips? Like say panjim to mumbai and back? Quote:

In my opinion, YES you can do it. I've ridden around 300-320kms in a day on my Apache and never felt anything to call it uncomfortable for highway rides. There are some other people here who tour on Apache. They can share their experience about even longer rides. A guy (xBhp ID: RazorBlades) has done LEH ride on his RTR160 and as far as I know, he hadn't faced any problem. And, as you see, people tour on R15 a lot. R15's riding posture is more cramped than RTR, then why can't we tour on RTR? ![]() But before going for it or any other bike having sporty riding stance, make sure you don't have a back-ache problem(already).

. About the back problem, I used have back aches couple of years back when i started riding bikes. And after a while it just faded away. But I used to ride mostly commuter bikes (mostly XCD, platina and unicorn). So should i be concerned, or is it something normal?
