I dont say that applies to all bikes by honda but the i judge by limited experiences i've had with them....

^^^ is your main problem!!!

Honda's are well known for engines. But your statement like Honda engines are over refined & hence I'm going for P220 sounds really dumb!!!

Anyway, choice is yours; just interfered to clear the misconception on Honda.

I dont believe there is problem..
As a rider i know exactly what i want in my bike and so far i've not seen any honda meeting my needs...
And its not "dumb" selecting p220 over the over-refined honda engines tell that to thousands of RE riders who'll pay 1.5 lakhs for a CL 500 over CBR250
Anyways i dont want to start any fire here i believe its just a healthy debate between two fellow motorcyclists who pursue the same passion but have different paths.....
!Cheers!

@threadstarter: Whatever you buy, before making any decision take a test drive of all those vehicle in your list.

Here is my take on the topic ( everything is based on my experience and my experience only ):

Power- I am a power freak and love outright acceleration

I own a Pulsar 220 DTS-Fi and driven a RTR-160 for some times and ZMA for some times. All of these were fast. Fast enough to zoom past most of the bike when a traffic signal opens. Although RTR gives a different kind of zooming. its just goes like a rocket and stops after a while and will stay at that speed from then on. I don't know probably something wrong with the bike that I drove. Where as Pulsar and Karizma will keep going, atleast till the max. Pulsar has a 3 bhp advantage on Karizma. But Karizma was more comfortable and felt like giving more control on bend and curves at high speeds.

Touring capabilities- Must be comfortable enough to do 250 kms stretches without many butt breaks

Well, go for Karizma then. On a Pulsar, although the driver might not feel anything out of his passion, the pillion will certainly cry out for his bums and legs. But if you are going to be riding without a pillion on a long tour, 220 is also ok. I do a Chennai-Bangalore-Chennai trip, almost every week. I don't feel anything. And I don't stops for break, not even once. Velachery to J.P.Nagar in one go. And dude don't even go for the fast factor here. I only see high end cars taking over me. Otherwise everyone looks like they are standing. Once I raced against a Honda City. He must be kicking himself for buying City and not something faster.

I dont care much for refinement and such, so vibes are not a major issue

On a 220 till 120 no vibes at all. After that it starts vibrating like anything. The vibration is something that scares me most times and stops me from going faster. Haven't checked anything else at fast speeds so can't really say. But RTR vibrates for no good reasons.

Looks- I know looks are subjective but you may guess which bike will look good on me, i am 6'0" and 65Kgs

Personally I think ZMR looks better than anything else Indian. But again that's a personal view. 220 and RTR is not bad either. 220 scores with its head lamps though. But the same fairing is a curse too. 220 owner will understand what I mean by that. And based on the size of RTR, it will not be appropriate for 6Feet+ guys. That was the main reason I went for 220, other wise I had almost booked RTR 180.

I'll maintain the bike decently but it must atleast not leave me stranded on a highway

Great. Anything will suit you then.

My budget is approx 100k so please dont ask me to wait for cbr

Most will come under that range.

Mileage must be around 35...

Atleast ZMR is out. RTR scores here big time.

I am getting arround 38 in city. But my riding style is not mileage oriented. On highways I get straight 45+ every single time.

I wil just assume that this might help some one if they are confused between RTR, 220 and Karizma.

By the way, if riding is mostly going to be in cities, unicorn is best bet. All packaged under one roof. I don't like Dazzler though. Nothing against it, but just don't like it. Unicorn is just the perfect bike for daily commuting. ( waiting period kills though ).
