On the other hand, Ninja is slightly undergeared for acceleration, and you might get 20-24 kmpl. Ninja is definitely faster of the two, but its the kind of performance you want on a racetrack, not on a highway. It's good for touring, just not better than CBR. Although, Ninja's service is mostly high quality, but its spare parts are damn expensive. Honda's CBR's service can be done on any of the smaller cities with Honda showrooms, like Ajmer too. But Ninja's service is limited to Probikings, and if you don't have one near you, the ordinary Bajaj Service centre would call a mechanic from Probikings, once a month or so for services. I suggest you go for CBR, if possible the C-ABS version to be on the safe side. Last edited by Samarth 619; 06-11-2011 at 01:40 PM. |

@ Samarth 619
Last week I tested the CBR in a nearby showroom, a small correction in the Mileage part alone. Honda's simulated mileage test is 27Kmpl, Showroom claimed is 20-22Kmpl and anything less than 15Kmpl will only be taken as a compliant. So I do not consider CBR 250 as an Everyday bike, all we can do is fill the tank and start touring comfortably. |

Well the owners claim a healthy 32+ Kmpl some even more, I dunno how. May be our Indian versions are really de-tuned ?

@ BladeBoy
Today met my uncle (45 yr old). He has the new CBR ABS one. I threw a handful of questions and his feedback follows. 1) Power delivery is amazing and very smooth (Like an overpowered Unicorn) 2) Mileage is around 20, Calculated by taking average Kms run from Full tank to reserve per litre. (He is currently doing an engine runin less than 7K RPM. Not sure about the economy if I lay my hands on? )3) Amazing road stability at high speeds on Highways, if you are in the right gear even Wind disturbances wont be there. 4) Doesnt handle well in sharp curves and road tangles like the R15, this may be due to the 170Kg diet. ![]() Overall CBR 250 is a wish granted to Tourers by Honda and nothing more. |
