My height is 5'3..
I needed to buy a bike..I always liked the pulsar 135 and checked out its features and really liked it..We went to the showroom and asked for its price and features...I asked them that I could sit and try it...but when I sat, only my toes were touching the ground...I really felt sad...I liked the bike since long but couldn't digest the fact that it is too height for me.. I didn't feel the bike as heavy..The weight was ok for me..But I'm really worried about the height..So what can I do? I feel very depressed about this...Few people said that I can manage the bike after some practice on it...riding is ok..but what about balancing while stopping it? Friends please suggest me a bike for my height... Budget is not a problem till 1 lakh..I'd like something which gives atleast 45kmpl in city (I'll ride mostly in city)..however if bike suits me well, even 35 kmpl is ok.!! Small info : I used to ride my dad's boxer ct always..And now I'm using my uncle's platina 100cc for a while..they both suited well for my height. |

Hi Akhil!
Cheer up, there is nothing to be depressed about one's height. I won't be taking any rich & famous names here (most are shorties) but riders? Dani Pedrosa is a classic example. You can very well ride the P-135LS. Practice would make you perfect it. Another bike which I can recommend is the FZ from Yamaha. This too (two) should work for you. You may also like to try out the R15. Believe me there are worse things than height, I actually feel blessed that my eye-sight is okay and am fit enough to enjoy a Motorcycle. Cheers

Hi Akhil,
if any of your friend has got an R15, you should try that(else go to Yamaha showroom). And yes, even if your toes are touching the ground, you'll find it safe after you get used to it. Even medium height riders(~5'7'') never use their entire foot at once to balance their bike while stopping. And you liked P135 but ignoring it just because of your height-- I'd say NO, go for it; go for any bike you like. |

Dude, what are you thinking about if you really like the P135 man, just go for it.. Once you're comfortable after riding it a few 100 kms, believe me you wouldn't have any issues at all. Whenever you need to stop, just keep your 1 leg firmly on ground (i would prefer the right leg) While let the other leg be on footrest.. You dont need both the legs firmly on ground buddy.. P135 is a really sweet machine man, dont miss out on it if you lik it to..
Enough with the talk, let me give you a graphical demonstration.. My close pal got his P135 & he rides it like a breeze even with pillion twice his weight. check out his pics.. (Right leg on ground & left on footrest) ![]() Just one foot one ground that too only toes (with a heavy pillion behind) ![]() & finally, check out his height for real.. (He's the one standing besides P220) ![]() & his height - 5.2" & still we call him the best/most safest rider in our group & he also used to ride his UNICORN since last 4-5 yrs without much issue.. So dont worry for height broSO DONT BE UPSET BROTHER, MAKE THE MOST OUT OF WHAT YOU'VE GOT.. PS: As the other members suggested, check out FZ/R15 too.. really lightweight & best handling machines.. Do check up on new R15 since budget is not an issue to you.. Just test ride the bike & go for whatsoever you are most comfortable with.. But give your heart's choice a due consideration buddy, dont neglect it just for height issue.. Cheers

If you'd like, try the Avenger 220.

@ Mitz great explination with pics man.
@ thread Starter: I would say that height will not be a problem at all for riding any kind of bike buddy. I dont have the pics of my frined who is 5'5" and he rides a GS150R tallest in its class.

I know its really hard to handle one in the city ( my friend has one ), but why not an Avenger 220 ? Its one sweet bike ! Of course , refinement has always been bajaj's weak point but it looks super , is really quick and will be comfortable for your height ! mileage - expect between 30 and 35
