Default Ninja 650 or Hyosung 650 GTR Or R6

Hello guys , im aravind from chennai , after seeing superbikes whole of my life and being an adrent fan of the Great Valentino , in intend to own a superbike for me . I have seen several bikes during my masters stay in Uk . I fell in love with the R6 the name still haunts my mind. Unfortunately that bike is still not available for sale in india , puts me into confusions and questions.

The thing in Ninja is i like the specs of the bike , but the style seems to be a bit tourer , the hyosung 650 gtr got the killer looks of a sports bike and the front portion looks a exact copy of the Suzuki Gixxer which makes me look at it on and on , btw is this White blue color available for purchase if ordered , i love this color compared to the others ( red , black , white , red black etc...) .

but the question is is it really efficient bike and does it shows it raw power of 650 is it worth buying ?? which of those both is a better choice .

I still get to hear from my friends in here there are lot of second hand dealers who import super-bikes in india and as well as in chennai , do i get a second hand R6 my dream bike saying a good bye to the other two chaps .... or what ??

I seek the XBHPIANS sincere guide and advice , or suggest me if i have to wait for some time to see any other new unveils

The best the ever was....... The best ever still is ........

Wait for Ninja 650 2012 model. That looks way better than the current one. Hyosung and Yamaha R6 are track oriented bikes while Ninja 650 is a tourer. Depending on what your requirement is, you may choose.
Although R6 is way better than the otehr 2 bikes (personally), I would not buy that until Yamaha officialy launches it in India.

please read the pathetic story of a Hyosung owner...

Melroy Alphonso
THE FULL STORY OF THE INCIDENT THAT HAPPENED: My name is Melroy Alphonso staying at Mumbai.I had purchased a ruby red Hyosung GT650R from Ronit Motors,Mumbai in the month of June,2011.I was one of the first customers in Mumbai to city to purchase the bike. Garware Motors has sponsered a endurance ride to complete distance of 2400kms in 24/36hrs.They had made a part payment of Rs10,000 for doing the sponsered ride. My ride was Mumbai to Jaipur and back and the scheduled date was 10th November 9am.Before the ride on 9th Nov,Technical engineer at Garware motors supervised by bike being checked and also got the bike washed at Ronit Motors workshop. There was a problem after the wash and the bike FI light started blinking, the problem came up as a fauty gear position indicator and it was duly replaced. I set out on my ride Thursday 10th morning.workshop manager,Ronit motors, nephew owner,Ronit Motors and Technical engineer,Garware motors was present along with my family member and friends. My ride from Mumbai to Surat was smooth, went ahead passing Ahmedabad and then at Gandhinagar after refuelling from the petrol pump.I felt like the rear tyre was slipping and I slowly parked the bike on the side and contacted the Technical engineer .I also informed him that earlier during the day,the bike had tilted and fallen on the right hand side while negotiaitng a turn. The fuel leaking stopped and I started my bike again, going little ahead the same problem happened and I slowly stopped the bike on the side of the road.Thankfully I had come to a small village area and the store owner helped me out by calling a mechanic. The mechanic arrived and he pushed the bike to the workshop. The roadside mechanic was in constant touch with Tech engineer through phone calls on how to rectify the problem. After getting it checked ,the mechanic came along with his scooter following me on my bike to check whether there is leakage happening again. And yes It did for the third time.Again the mechanic was in talks with Technical Engineer at Garware motors and the problem seemed to be the bike's faulty fuel pump. The Technical engineer was in talks with sales manager,RC motors. They asked me to get my bike to RC motors,Ahmedabad. After making arrangement myself I loaded the bike on to a pickup vehicle and took the bike back 50kms plus from Ghandinagar area to the showroom. The owner was present along with two mechanic and he greeted me and treated me well. The mechanic stated working on the bike and the replaced the bike's fuel pump. The dealer's mechanic took the bike for a test and made a "U"turn to the other side of the road and raced the bike so fast that the engine noise was very loud.Barely 5-10secs after racing the bike he hit the the divider, further going ahead and hitting the pole.He didn't bother to wear a helmet. After getting the mechanic admitted and hour later he died.I took a air flight Friday afternoon 3pm at my own expense after informing the Tech engineer and General manager(sales&mktg) and came back to Mumbai,I also informed them that my bike is lying at RC motors showroom badly damaged. The Technical engineer says it's my fault that the bike's fuel pump was damaged because I had dropped the bike earlier during the day.Brand manager/Sales manager at Garware motors says I should claim insurance on the bike.General manager(sales&mtkg) spoke very rudely on the phone and had a argument.Sales manager at RC Motors says that it's my fault that they have lost a mechanic.

please keep this tory in mind before going to Hyosung showroom...

My Take: This Melroy guy can't seem to take even a small criticism (he seems to be blocking/removing those guys from his facebook friend list who sounds even a little critical of him) but seems to be on a mission to tarnish the reputation of Garware-Hyosung.

How can I believe something which could be just one side of the story..?? and who knows might not be the complete truth in the first place. We got to hear both sides of the story.

Now take a load of this: I happened to post something on Melroy's wall in a "slighty" critical manner.. the next thing I notice is that he has removed/blocked me pronto (in just a few seconds) from viewing his profile

i suggest u to check for the usage of the bike accordingly choose it .. apart from grey market R6 both bikes worth the money, what is the usage ur palnning for the bike .. say long tours or short rides ? each can give u the pleasure worth the money. it all up to you.. i say both are good machines .. just wait for some more time .. u'll come to know which new supersports will get launch in AutoExpo .. then take ur call

OT: well sir,.. its there personal view [both parties] .. according to story the SVC did respond to his call that too midnight 1:30am .. now which SVC does that ? assuming most of the SVC will help in such situation, the main fault from SVC is they not trained there mechanic in handling customers.. in most B'lore Yamaha showroom mechanics are not allowed to ride customer bike in any situation .. unless they get green signal from manager [this is to avoid such incident which happened couple of time here].
what problem with Melroy is this person didn't expected that Mechanic will crash and die .. and obviously he never said to wear helmet to mechanic ..as most of us will do that same in similar situation. after this incident ..both parties are trying to wash there hands off ..main fact is none of them worried abt the mechanic death than the visitors like us to those profiles .. so bottom line is both are responsible and now main question is who is accountable ?
i don;t see anything wrong with Garware .

hey guys many thanks for ur suggestions and tips i was one step closer to book a hyosung , now i have given up the idea of buying it ,

I want a typical sports bike and not a sports tourer like the current ninja 650 here , it s like there are not much bikes available in that price range , so wanted to forefit with it , like giving u no other choices of bikes in those range.

ill wait for the ninja 650 2012 model , the bike is for both casual purpose as well as track oriented. I may take it to sriperumbadur race track at times.

I am also interested in the Honda CBR 600 is it worth a purchase ,or wait for the official release of an R6 in India , are they really releasing it ,officially the news has been out for a very long time. Many thanks again ,

My budget is :5 + lacs
