@payeng and all who are complaining about Melroy; you guys are 100% right. This guy is highly insensitive , too kiddish, whatever you call. I do not mean to defame him.
But AFAIK at 1st he posted his status update on facebook that a mechanic has crashed his bike and they are not giving him compensation. I got to know about the death of the mechanic only after the rc motor guy commented. He even mentioned that melroy insisted the mechanic to test ride the bike after it was repaired; that was close to midnight!!!. It was also mentioned that the part was replaced free of cost. What type of svc do you want.?He has never mentioned the true story.

It was melroy (like i've read) who insisted the mechanic to take a test ride. (Will you really give your 5L bike to a mechanic for a test ride that too at midnight?)
We just know a little bit what the other side has to say as he is either deleting the comments or blocking the people who are trying to say actual things. He just wants people to hear his version of what's right and also he wants to hear things in his favour.
I clearly feel he wants to tarnish the image of Garware so that they (Garware people) are scared of losing their market share and repair his bike.
I clearly DON'T work for Garware. I just said these things because I clearly think that Melroy is not presenting the true picture to meet his goals and in the process he showed how insensitive he is and what respect he has of a human life. I might be saying some strong words which I shouldn't say, but I can't help it.
    RIP that poor mechanic
@TS: R6 in india : Distant dream, the bike is one of the most good looking/sounding (to me).
Hyosung gt650 : really sporty seating position, looks good
Ninja 650 : somehow doesn't look appealing to me.
PS: you might be aware that the r6 is almost twice as powerful as the 650s. also even if you get that; where will you get it serviced??

YZF R6 is priced so high just because of the intense R&D behind it. In other words, the component level is very high, but that means you have to pay the price. Its even more expensive that the FZ1/ FAZER1000.

So, while handling, braking and other such aspects would be much better in the R6, it might not make it to India legally, or it might be very expensive. Around 11-13 Lacs On road is more like it...
Go to gray market, and you might get it for 8-10 Lacs. But grays can't survive anymore with more and more RTO's asking for original invoice.

From the other 2 bikes, Ninja 650R seems better overall in most factors... However, GT is better in racetrack handling, braking, looks, etc.
But the 2012 model should assert its position by improving on looks, torque, etc.

So, whether 2011 or 2012, Ninja is the one you should go for unless you expect more racetrack exposure than road.

Yes, we are to hear both sides of the story and it was a good gesture on Garware's part to provide service at that time.

@OP - Get whatever you like. Yes, its that easy.
i suggested him not to scold Garware for everything and instead concentrate on FIR and getting bike back .. next thing i saw is He removed me from Frnd list and my post deleted and banned .. i learned a lesson never add everyone in FB .. and never try to give practical advice to anyone without knowing that person behavior

we should suggest the Thread starter to take Test ride and decide .. problems will be there in all brands SVC .. some are minor and some of major

^If you've got the dough, get the R6. Else, the Ninja 650r.

As for Alroy Melfonso's issue, put that aside. Whether it was his fault or not is out of the question. When a new dealership which is importing, well let's be honest, not so interesting bikes(compared to its rivals atleast), you should take some time and see how they fare overall as a company/dealership and then decide on it. Frankly, I'd say its a given, any day, to prefer a Jap to a Korean steed.

Or you could wait for the triumph which will be around town soon enough. You'll have more options then. So yes, you're plan to wait is a good idea .
Riding is a way of life. Sometimes, it might also be a way of giving life. So Ride safe. In both contexts.

Any bike less than 800cc needs to go through homogolation process which is approved by ARAI, and its a hassle for the companies.

And the price of R6 will depend on its year, clean/grey, accidents etc. But a fair looking and an R6 with good engine will be more than the 650s that are sold here
