I own a 220 myself and its been great on touring. After about 10 hours on a bike, wrists will start paining but thats about it.

But with a pillion.. its a strict no no.

The rear seat is very uncomfortable. Better to go for a Zma in this case. Not a big fan of the RE

one of my known person, who is using avenger for more than 5 months says,it is fine on good roads, giv awesome grip also, pillion has back rest also.but on rough roads (read bad roads) all the shocks and bumps will be transferred to your spine..don't feel bad.i'm just saying his experience.

TBTS is a machine in a different league, but again it comes with its own set of issues just like any RE.
Also consider the Avenger 200. I have been using the 180, its not very refined just like any other Bajaj bike. The power and acceleration are good but the gearbox is not refined. Spares are cheap and available freely. Reliability is good. Handling is very good if you are a straight line rider, no flicking, no excessive leaning etc. Braking is also good. Overall it feels SOLID on the road, no issues at all. Overall a good cruiser.

My choices
1. Karizma
2. Avenger 180/200

-- TB only if you want to go for a RE.

jonak,i'll test ride both and come to a decision.but i feel karizma will be outadated within 1 or 2 years,hh will release a new model.(no offense karizma users).i am really abt spares availability after 2 years.

yes ravi first i should test ride it.handling is an important requirement,in which karizma is good

Karizma R -- Ideal (VFM, reliable and time tested)
Thunderbird (TBTS)-- ( Smooth on good roads, but ride isnt comfortable for pillion on Bad roads)
Pulsar 220-- Refinement not top notch
Avenger 200

Since you have a big budjet..you can also look at a used Comet or a Aquila, however spares and reliablity will be a issue
vin freak,i do have a big budget, but is comet still available? i think one can buy comet through kinetic motors.am i right? wht abt pros and cons in comet? if u know pls tell me.anyway comet has enough power suits my requirement.

Very true...
The shocks are transferred to your spine. Also to make the pillion really comfy you will need to cushion the seats a bit.
I can vouch for the grip and handling. Its not a perfect bike, has its pros and cons. Any specific questions, feel free to PM.
As somebody suggested, test ride all (make sure its a long test ride) and decide.

Test Ride : I felt comfortable to discuss this with fellow xBhpians than take a small test ride from the company. Attend a g2g in your city. You can have better insight into these things. You can also test ride any bike you would want to in the g2g..you can have ownership experiences shared with you...it will surely help you decide. Ensure you take into account how old the bike is / usage / maintanence...

You can use the multi quote option (The + (plus) mark button, next to the 'Quote' button) to reply to more than one post.

HH is selling Karizmas now more than what they initially sold. Lots of Zma's on the roads now. Spares are not going to be a problem for at least four more years. Remeber the bike is from Hero Honda.

happy to hear if anyone buy karizma,no prob for atleast 4years for service & spares.that's more than enough buddy.what is meant by g2g?

i heard apache rtr 80 will be released within 3 months

@vinfreak
i enquired three dealers of kinetic, all are telling kinetic comet & aquila are no more in sales in india. one dealer also told mahindra takeover kinetic motors.so,comet and aquila are out of choice buddy
