Question Rich Breed, Six Speed!

Guys, after a lot of different nice & bad times with P180, I want to change my bike.

Budget: 4-5 Lacs depending on bike (it should be worth that much.)

Time: Can wait upto Jan 2010, at most (my last year at College).

Service: Yamaha's service is best in Ajmer (less customers, more attention, lots of satisfied customers).
Bajaj's NON-PROBIKING Service is very inferior & I don't want to go there again ...

Main Considerations:->

Yamaha R15,
Kawasaki Ninja 250,
KTM Duke 690,

Other Considerations:--> any new & relevant 250+ in the market.

--
Yamaha Dealer is my friend, and I would like to help him, even as little as 1 extra customer. Sadly, He has sold only 65-75 R15's up to now...

Now, I'm really caught between Yamaha & Bajaj. Yamaha's only disadvantage being low power, and Duke/ Ninja's only advantage - High Power.

My heart says that Go Ahead with Yamaha and adjust to the power, (which isn't so low after all, as I test rode it twice)...

and my brain says, it needs 30 bhp for the Future Trips, Improving Roads ...

Hope Yamaha had a 250-600cc anything at "considerable" Prices ... I'm really confused... mainly about Bajaj or Yamaha.

@ snehil: Actually, it's Jan 2010. Thanks. It's rectified. Yes, I guess Duke won't have that Rear Sets. and maybe out of my budget too ..

But again, the Service is also a concern. A Guy from Jaipur Probiking comes to Ajmer every month to service the Pro-biking machines ... and my P180 has been treated badly here.

hmmm....you can alwayz go for the r15.
but are couple of bikes to be launched which are not there in your list.
but those bikes are cheap according to your budget
if i were you.i would ride my pulsar and wait for the ninja 250.
after its launch you can always find out how after sale service is.

according to me bike to be launched this year
honda cbf 125 fi(stunner)
rtr 180
pulsar 180(in showrooms)
p 220 carb version
p 200 which looks like p 220.
and the most exiting bike
hero honda passion pro ab style bolega

but seriously..i am waiting for the ninja !

I would suggest "invest" a lakh on 09' R15 and another 50K on quality 2 piece alpine/speedi riding suit and an arai helmet.
you would still have 3.5-3 lakhs for 250r/or any 250 (if ever it get launched here). Sell off (or keep) r15 for 250R later. This way you wouldn't end up riding your p180 till Jan 2010 and already would have had a taste of sportsbiking before hopping on to 33bhp bike.

@ snehil: The Bike should be above R15 is all matters, if not R15 itself. So, can't consider these Bikes you mentioned...

--
@ Pulsator: Actually, this would be the last bike I'll have for 3-5 years, accd. to my dad's conditions... So, I'll have to choose one ...

I don't get this. You wouldn't be paying again for a new bike, it's just you are not gonna spend whole of your budget at one go, isn't it? so what's the harm?
