@ sam92 & Dogg: Litre Class or anything 600+ may not suit my needs... After all, I won't go beyond 200 kmph ..?

The bike would be used for travelling to College/ Work on Jaipur Roads (Highway) ... and occassional in-city trip.

and also, I would hate heavier machines (anything above 170 kgs full fuelled).

That's why I pinpointed Duke 690 -- legal, new, useable, lighter... (even though seating position bit un-desireable)
i dont recomend duke .. well it looks more like a offroader ..it wont suit in the city ,, the bike i can recomend now is

    BAJAJ NINJA 250R
even i am planing for 1 when is launched .. [got bored of RTR 160 power]

You are planning for something which is not even launched. This makes no sense. When you say that you wont cross 200kmh that doesnt means that you cannot buy a bike which clocks 296kmph. The old saying "It does not matter how much you reach but what matters is how you reach". Having a liter class is amazing. Forget all brother, target the 1000cc bike. It will be a lifetime investment. For city commuting use R15. Think again! You have a good amount of money. Use it wisely!

If you planning to buy this now then R15.... coz the rest is vapourware

If you planning to buy it by 2010, then ptew! Lets see when the bikes get launched... (this is what the mods had said to me as well in my thread about the R15 and the TBTS)

Dude, my dad would kill me ... 2 Bikes?! I repeat the things --

            1. not heavier than 170 kgs fuelled, so R1 or the Litres are not considerable ...
            2. NEW Bikes only. No Second hand.
            3. Only one bike to do it all ... I can adjust a bit, as I'm mostly on freeways ...

Guys, it's my final bike for 4-5 years... and bigger decision is which OEM - Bajaj or Yamaha? Because Service & power both matter to me ... I know options are less, that's why I mentioned Ninja & R15 ...

If any STAFF or anyone has a Future Release NEWS of some 250+, PLEASE "PM" ME. I will keep it a COMPLETE secret, I promise!

Yes, I think it will be performance-wise ... Although, I'm a lot concerned with The Sales & Service...

I'm in Ajmer, a NON-PROBIKING Bajaj SC is nearby. But, every month a Probiker comes from Jaipur to service 200's and 220's here ...

Will they be able to handle my bike correctly? __ Service/ After Sales is the only reason why I'm dropping 600cc+ plans and so, Ajmer Yamaha won't service them.

You are talking about bikes which are still in the air of speculations here. If you are really serious&feel the R15 (which is the only available option as of now) is less for your liking/budget, I would say wait till Bajaj/someone else releases some bigger bike&then think of this when you have some choices available in the market!

servicing is not that big a deal. if you went in and actually looked at what they do to your bike during servicing youd do it yourself from the next day. bikes arent very complex. plus the parts are easy to get to compared to cars

                      +1 ...
If you want a bike now, there is no choice !! You have to go for R15 or a sec hand SBK (wich u already said u don't prefer) !!

Else if you are waiting to buy one in say another 6 months, then its much more prudent to have this discussion then !! Who knows what might happen in 6 months !! Some bike which we have never thght of can suddenly get launched, while some other (cough cough) that we are eagerly waiting for still not materialise !!

In my humble opinion, these kind of threads serve absolutely no purpose now !!
Kawasaki Ninja : Because lazy sunday afternoons should be despatched at 160 kmph!!!
Hyosung Aquila : Because sometimes you need to look cool while riding at 40 kmph and you can do that only on a cruiser !!!
