Please read again my post. The key point I raised was not longevity of the engine - It was availability of spares (something as simple as an oil filter, fork seals and clutch cable) and after sales service/number of service centers, etc. If lacs of kilometers logged is the only criteria, CD-Dawn (Sibun da's Joy has done close to 4 lacs), Karizma, Splendors, Tata Ace, Ashok Leyland - all are good buys. But not all people keep their bikes for lacs. Engine longevity of Hondas and Suzukis are well known from the Max 100R, Fiero, Hero Honda days.
In general, a motorcycle kept exclusively for touring will have lesser replacements per km than the one used extensively inside the city. I feel the overall ownership experience has to be considered (Ease of buying, owning, resale value, etc).
My experience is the opposite - Honda better than Suzuki.
I too have suzuki gs150 r and clocked 2,00,000+, 8 yrs and is fine till now.
No bike can compete with the reliability that Suzuki offers after hornet experience.
After all experiences I found Suzuki to be better than Honda now.
Hats off to you for doing 2 lacs on GS. My pick is still the Hornet 160R/FZ.
