  • [Photo Feature]: Welcome The Legend : The CAAD9

First of all, thanks to xbhp again which introduced me to the great-great world of cycling, otherwise i would have been just another biker. Now to the point, I want to introduce you all to my new rides : The Legend Bike Cannondale CAAD9 & my commuting bike Cannondale BAD BOY.

CAAD9 is a true road/racing bike and it showed its character on the first ride itself. With slight amount of effort this thing touches 40 km/h. It is feather light (one can lift it with one finger) and damn comfortable (I mean it). It is comfortable than any other bike (even with suspension) I have ridden. I think its all about the frame of the bike. Tires looks thin but they have got some solid grip means bike never skids under hard breaking. BB30 crank is very stiff and responsive. One thing i can assure you that u will feel your power getting transferred to speed when you pedal. Shimano 105 gear system is butter smooth. Shimano rs10 wheels looks good with few spokes and red nipples. Geometry of the bike is aggressive and it gives rider an aggressive posture on the drops, while on the hoods it is relaxing. Anyway handlebar gives u 3-4 positions which is good.

My second bike that is BAD BOY is a hybrid. It is tough like mtb, speedy like a road bike. So best of the worlds. Cannondale say that they developed this frame for some racers and then painted it black and sold it to masses. The bike really shows it character on bad roads and on good roads as well. I have never applied brakes for potholes and speed-barkers and this thing takes it very easily. Schwalbe 700*28c gives you lot of confidence on gravel. But that dosent mean that the bike is slow. It has got good speed as well. 30-35 is comfortable for me. Shimano acera/alivio combo does its job well. Cannondale C3 wheels looks solid & FSA alpha crankset is stiff and responsive.Tektro v brakes does its job very well. So, all n all its a great bike for daily commuting and even for some long rides.

Coming to styling, one thing i noticed about these premium bikes is that their color quality. Its better than any indian car or motorcycle. Matte Black color of my bad boy is damn sexy, it looks raw & dull but blinks at night (people call it a ghost bike). Finishing of the paint is superb without any plastic stickers.

2 days back i did a 55 km trip on CAAD9 and it was very enjoyable. The weather was superb & nice music in ears. Getting used to the bike so wasn't riding it fast, just enjoying the weather and ride. Few pics of the bikes:-

    Cheers and take care.

These mobikers inspires me a lot when some of them get amazed at my speed, and almost everyone of them gives a nice look to my bike and me by turning back. Sometimes I feel that I am not riding a bicycle instead i m riding some expansive super bike.
