Delhi is truly an amazing place. I know most of you guys will think otherwise because of the recent incidents, the pollution level, the no. of vehicles etc. But let me tell you that within this hustle-bustle of Delhi you would find places which are quite intriguing, if you are even slightly of adventurist kind. Ridge Forest is one of them. Those who want to know about this precious little heaven, please go through this.... Delhi Ridge - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia (Delhi Ridge, sometimes simply called The Ridge, is a ridge in the National Capital Territory of Delhi in India.[1] The ridge is a northern extension of the ancient Aravalli Range, some 1500 million years old (compared to just 50 million for the Himalaya).[2][3] The ridge consists of quartzite rocks and extends from the Southeast at Tughlaqabad, near the Bhatti mines, branching out in places and tapering off in the north near Wazirabad on the west bank of the river Yamuna,[4] covering a distance of about 35 kilometers.[5]The Delhi Ridge is said to be the green lungs for the city and protects Delhi from the hot winds of the deserts of Rajasthan to the west. One of the Ridge area is the vast green cover you will find in Vasant Kunj. Sanjay Van is the name of that ridge forest. As you guys know that I recently became a 0BHPian too, I wanted to experience my cycling in a much quieter environment. Now, by quieter I meant without the noise of vehicles but definitely not without the sound which a forest area can offer. I have visited Asola Sanctuary which is just on the border of Delhi-Faridabad and I was amazed with the green cover I witnessed. So, I was pretty much convinced that a visit to Sanjay Van will be a good experience too.
On the morning of Saturday the 14th Sep, a random discussion between my very good friend Ankon, my wife and me resulted in the decision to visit the Sanjay Van and explore the place. Now, I was very keen to ride my cycle inside the Ridge Area as Google map showed some jogging tracks inside it but carrying two excess luggage (read my friend and my wife) on cycle was never an options
. I have a Toyota Liva and am yet not come up with idea to carry my cycle inside the car. I have a Pulsar 220 and a Scooter though. So, it was decided that my friend and my wife would ride on the scooter and help me on the way to Sanjay Van from C R Park as it was at a distance of 10 kms one way and consisted of 3 flyovers (I like to take the inconvenience of doing the uphill climb of flyover than conveniently crossing the intersection as you never know a Dilli wala 
)
We reached Sanjay Van at 10:00 AM and I was ecstatic once I got inside through the gate. I am sharing some pics I have taken. I have loads of video too which I recorded through my helmet cam. The experience was just amazing. We explore just 10% or less of the area but even then we were completely amazed to find such greenery. We also met Air Vice marshal (ret) Vinod Rawat who is passionately working towards conserving and imparting knowledge about the Ridge Forest. Even I have decided to interact with him and do my bit to save and conserve the Ridge Areas. Though the trip was short, it made me even more attracted towards exploring Sanjay Van and hopefully I will re-visit this amazing place again, cycling my way through the jogging track.
