Hesaraghatta Lake - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
On the route I wanted to take a detour via Nelamangala. The route is as below:
I started sharp 2PM from home on my Cannondale Trial SL 5 29er. The weather was good with mostly cloudy. I took the ring road to reach the Bangalore-Pune highway and rode till Nalamangla. I took 1hr 20mins to Nelamangla about 36km. Took the first break. Checked with the locals for the directions. From here started the beautiful atmosphere, with lush greenery all around. One guy misleaded me which took 10km extra. 5km each forth and back.
In few stretches(was like forest, that too in Bangalore) I could not find people at all. It was so much remote place. The small villages brought me the memories of my childhood. Once my place(Horamavu) was so much under developed.
Then reached the Hesarghatta lake(dam). It was an amazing view. It had turned out to be a tourist spot with so many tourists. Spent 15mins on the lake bed and back on the saddle as before nightfall I had to reach back home.
Quickly checked with the locals for the direction, reched Vidyaranyapura by 6PM. After this it was usual city traffic and was quite boring. I could feel the fatigue at point as I am doing the long distance almost since 1 year. Finally reached home by 7.15PM.
Overall the route was amazing and was a good ride. Yes, I did it solo.
