    Dear All,
This is Prasanna venkatesh from Mysore. I joined the forum last week. I am a newbie to the cycling world. Got interested in cycling and after reading the reviews and forum posts abt cycles i bought my first cycle yesterday Mach City iBike 21 which was in my budget.
I was attracted to the looks of this bike.
I have started to ride today and will be pestering all the cycling gurus here 🙂
I have added few pics which i shot today of the bike.

As in an automobile, you use the lower gears for climbing, the middle gears for riding on flat roads and the highest gears for top speeds (which you will hit on downhills!!)

Experiment and see which are the correct gears for you on different terrain. No one else can recommend the correct gear, since it varies from person to person, depending on the level of fitness of the rider.

Re: My New Mach City iBike 21

Thanks. I went 10 kms daily for past two days and the route i travel has two uphills. It was quite challenging but thanks to gears (1 & 1) i could make it.
I have now figured out about how to use the gears in combination.

                    1. Cycling gloves.
                    2. Cycling shorts.

Also, you need to make sure your bike is perfectly fit for you.

Here's an article which i favour on the topic of bike fit - How to Fit a Bicycle

No no. You fit the bike you have bought to yourself. Of course the bike should be roughly in your size, the rest is getting a proper fit afterwards. Fitting entails, adjusting the saddle height and handlebar height mostly. There are other things which can be altered but that is unnecessary for the amount of riding you are doing currently.

Read through the article, you will understand

It is moderately heavy since it is a entry level bike.
Build quality is good and looks are nice.
Gear shifting is not that smooth which the shopkeeper said for this range it will not be smooth.
