Here are a list of things that I'm looking for in a bike:
- Well designed frame
- Disk Brakes (Preferably Hydraulic)
- A suspension fork (Not mandatory)
- Shimano Acera / Equivalent or better gearing
- Fat but fast rolling tires (As opposed to the more common skinny hybrid bike tires)
I found a few bikes that are just what I'm looking for (or close) but unfortunately, their price is beyond my budget. They are:
- Giant Roam 3
- Scott Sub Cross 40
- Bianchi C Sport 2.5
- Trek DS1
While I am still debating if I should spend around 35k on a bicycle, all thanks to Montra Helicon, which has caught my interest since I first found out about it. It looks great, is very affordable, and most reviews seem to be very positive. But what worries me about the Helicon is the lack of a suspension fork, cheap gearing components and tires that are only meant to be used on road. I fear that it would fail me in a few circumstances, like when I want to go off-roading, or even when the paved roads are really bad. I would love to hear what you have to say about this bike.
Are there bikes that fit my budget and have what I'm looking for? or am I expecting too much for the budget I have? Should I just go with Montra and buy an MTB in the future for my off-roading needs? I'll be patiently waiting for your answers, suggestions and advice. Thanks in advance.
