  • Need Suggestion for Buying Bicycle for commute to Office

    Hello Xbhpians,

I am from Hyderabad, I am 35 Years Old. I am planning to buy a Bicycle for Office Commute. I have read few articles on Internet but still has dilemma about choosing a bike. My doubts are

    * What Kind of Bike, I need to buy. Is it Without Gear, with Gear or any other type like MTB etc..
    * What are Other Accessories I need to buy.
    * I am 5'9 and my weight is around 70 KG. So, what Size I should i go? Is it Medium or Large.
    * I need to travel for 10 KM each side. Is it worth planning to go by Bicycle. My shifts are normal timings, i.e. 9 AM to 6 PM.

My Budget is under 10k. I have the following Bikes in my mind.
    * Mach City IBIke Single Speed.
    *HERCULES ACE 26

Can you guys, advise, any other budget friendly bicycle which suits my need.

    Thank you in advance.

I guess, I am over excited about the Bicycle. As I was referring few threads here and on internet. I found BTWIN MyBike is worth trying. Hence, I bought one at Decathlon.

Can any one suggest me, what are the necessary accessories to buy for safety.

Buy a good cycling helmet, front and back lights, a decent pair of cycling gloves, and if circumstances permit then go for cycling apparel. That ought to cover the basics. Enjoy

The pull-down spray head with a toggle button lets you switch between spray and stream modes effortlessly. The faucet also features advanced docking technology for secure retraction and a Pforever Seal—a seal that never leaks. https://faucetspoint.com/best-pull-out-kitchen-faucets/

The BTWIN by Decathlon 7 Series 26 T Mountain Cycle is a bicycle designed for various outdoor activities, including mountain biking, trail riding, and general recreational cycling. Below, I'll provide more information about this bicycle and explain why it could be a good investment for commuting to work:

Key Features of the BTWIN by Decathlon 7 Series 26 T Mountain Cycle:
              1. Frame: The bicycle typically features a sturdy and durable frame, usually made of steel or aluminum. This ensures stability and longevity.
              2. Wheel Size: The 26-inch wheel size is common for mountain bikes. It provides good balance and control on rough terrain while still being suitable for urban commuting.
              3. Suspension: Many mountain bikes, including this one, come with front suspension forks. This feature helps absorb shocks and impacts when riding on uneven or bumpy surfaces, providing a smoother ride.
              4. Gears: Mountain bikes often come with multiple gears to help you navigate various terrains. The BTWIN 7 Series likely has a gear system that allows you to easily switch between gears for different riding conditions.
              5. Brakes: Typically equipped with powerful disc brakes, which offer reliable stopping power, especially in wet or muddy conditions.
              6. Tires: Mountain bike tires are designed for traction and control on rugged terrain. Depending on the specific model, the tires may vary in tread pattern and width.
              7. Versatility: While it's primarily designed for off-road adventures, a mountain bike like this can also be used for commuting and urban riding. Its versatility allows you to tackle a variety of terrains, from city streets to dirt trails.

After personally using this bike for a year, I can confidently say that it's a worry-free and low-maintenance choice. I purchased it from the Decathlon branch in Bombay (Mumbai), and what stands out the most is its simplicity with 7 basic speeds and the absence of suspension issues. Adapting to the bike might take a little time initially, but within just five days, you'll find yourself loving it.
