  • MTB Under 20K India

Hi. I am planning to buy a Bicycle under 20 K in MTB Category. I have choosen 2 options.

    1. Montra Backbeat
    2. Hero Octane Salamander

Though both the brands are Indian. Montra seemed like a better brand.

Whereas, Hero has better components at a similar price range.

So, if someone can suggest and help based on their experience that which one should I go for?

I am also in the same boat. At this budget these are the only 2 brands but they are out of stock in most online stores, so where are you getting it from ?

When I checked reviews on Amazon for some of the earlier Octane model bikes, the quality with the gears and threads on the frame where of poor quality.

So I guess it's better to go with Montra.

Currently there is no stock anywhere. I am just finalizing the product so that I know which one to buy when it comes in stock. Anyways, thanks for the feedback bro. I have heard great feedback for Montra always but Hero is no where to be seen in this price range. Though the specs at this price is just amazing and absolutely value for money.

Yeah bro. I'm finding it hard to decide still. I am also looking at Montra Downtown , Madrock, Hercules Roadeo A85 , Riverside 120 etc. There are just too many bikes to choose from, the list is endless but I want a headache free bike that won't break down even if the features are less.

I find Frog to be a lil expensive as Montra has similar specs at better price amd Frog is a recent entrant. But Frog makes Good cycles though. And Firefox I won't suggest cause you don't get value for money.

Out of the given Options Montra has the Best Specs. And btw, do you have any idea about Polygon? I am also thinking of considering the Polygon Cascade 2 from CMB as it is available for pre order.
