Hey DD! Great buy! Wanted to see this for some time now. We got the same brand at home. But it is not the same model. My handlebars are straighter it seems. And the diagonal beam is different too. What gears do you have?
The Wheel was a great invention; Two Wheels with a Motor in between was even better!

congrats....nice bike for a beginner. I also started with an suncross mtb, rode it for 6 months then upgraded to Cannondale f5.

Btw size of the bike is very small according to ur hight and ur seat height is also not proper. correct it so that u can enjoy it more, at least seat height.

Your bike's gears (derailleurs) are shimano altus and shifters are shimano trigger shifters stef-50, which is entry-level shimano product.

If u r riding in city try to do away with those fatty tires. For city commuting a road-bike is unbeatable because u get double speed with same same amount of power compared to an mtb. with a road-bike u can cruise at speed of 40-50 comfortably.

thats true the seat height is not correct. i had to bring it down cause the guy who cleans my bikes said that he wants to try out the cycle and he was having problem riding it on the high seat so put it down for him

              ----------------

indeed i will try to get the tyres changed soon... its not like the MOTORcycle tyres that are hard to fine... and which are expensive to change... i am sure that i can change them for under 500 rs

and thanks a lot for the gear info... i am a Kn00b when it comes to such technicalities i am sure you can understand by looking at the second Bike in my signature...

@ Anand: is there a online info page for this bike?

Congratulations on your purchase. The bike looks nice (I no nothing about these Bicycles) though. I have been thinking of buying one for sometime. The ones that I liked are in the range of 15-20k. If you dont mind could you PM me its price?

Growing up is a Natural process, and so is the learning curve,we tend to learn to ride new and faster things and forget that this is what we initially started with.

Desi, I am impressed by the way you think as with some recent interactions,Spending 5000/- INR in gym would a waste, when something like cycling can be done to keep you fit.

Usualy instead of me gooing to market now on Bike,I prefer my brother's BiCycle.

No, there is no info about suncross on web, its a chinese brand and like most other brands like Everbest, Hippo etc.

Enjoy it for some time, gain some stamina and then upgrade to a good roadbike. You will feel the difference.

Thanks a lot for your words LP.

2 on front and 5-6 of rear is ok, but never make angle with chain such as 3 on front & 1 on rear.

There is no need to surprise because gone are the days when we used to ride those 4-5k bikes. Now it is time for performance machines. In India if you want to get an entry-level mtb hardtail, you need to pay at least 25-30k. For an entry level road-bike more then 25k. For example- Trek's entry level road-bike is of 47k and Bianchi's entry-level road-bike is for 55k.

But there is whole lot of difference these bikes can make. When I rode Trek 1.5 it was surprisingly fast compared to my mtb. I was cruising at a speed of 50 without much effort. On these machines speed of 40-50 is maintainable for long distances. And you know one thing that speed of 50 is last economy point for most of our Indian motorcycles. Thats why I am planning to get one soon. Cruise at speed of a motorcycle with a bicycle.
