    Spec wise target is good, has shimano Acera rear derailleurs, looks good too the Matt finish.
    But both RR and target are MTBs and may not suit for your ride.
    Its better that you try hybrids.

    The Montra Jazz and FF Target would be more suitable. RR is an MTB. Post the specs of the three, will make it that much easier to decide.

    Today i checked few bikes at a near by cycle shop. They had 2 bikes which fit my bidget and have QR wheels Rockrider 5.1 for 15k and Firefox Target for 18.5k. They also have montra bike for 18k but the salesperson advised against it as it's an Indian brand.

    Any suggestions on these bikes? which one is good.

    With your usage a roadbike would be ideal. But you will get nothing at that price point. Your next best option is to get a hybrid.
    A few models i can think of - Bianchi Spillo Rubino, Scott Sportster x70 i think, schwinn sportera, canondale quick 5, and KHS vitamin.

    Among the above, the canondale and schwinn i have heard good reviews about. Though all these bikes are good in general.

    I am very noob in this but my bike is priced at INR 15 with 3x7 gears and quick release for both front and back wheels. It may not be a well known brand but it's quite a good VFM product. It weighs close to 13.5 KG as it's a steel frame. Raleigh is the name and Suncross is selling it under license. I am regularly cycling on that and it's a good beginners bike, I would say.

    I would be riding it on paved roads around 2 days a week on days when i am not running for fitness purposes as cycling is better for knees and joints.

    The number of gears, better words gear ratio depends on the terrain you intend to ride. Eg for me living almost at hilly place wish to have another lower gear or a few number of teeth more on the rear large sprocket.
    Got to say only one word for disc brakes. Disc brake SUCKS. I don't find any difference compared to the V brakes. Maybe helpful if you do a lot of downhill rides.

    Your height and weight is irrelevant at this stage

    What matters is your intended usage?

    No. of gears don't matter as much as the gear ratios. But in general 21 gears should suffice for most of your requirements. Discs in that price range are not really advisable.

    Ok, i guess i would have to increase my budget. What bikes would be most suited for me around 20k with both QR wheels. My height is 5.7 inch and weight is 70kgs.

    Would the number of gears(as i have seen some have 21 gears) and disk break matter in cycles?

    In this budget, most of the cycles have QR for the front wheel. If you want QRS for both front and back, as Monk told it will cost around 20K.
    The only folding bike I can think at this budget is b'Twin Hoptown. But I can't comment on its quality as I haven't used one.
    Again folding bikes are good for commuting from point A to B and is not meant for serious riding.
    Good ones will cost around 30K.

    Most bikes around 20K would have QR. Don't buy a folding bike, you will get nothing worth anything at that price range.

    If you are in Bangalore, then try KHS at Wheelsports and Merida bikes. Both good VFM.

    I am into running since Feb 2013 and have covered around 2300Kms with 2 half marathons in between and now planning to give cycling a try. My budget is around 15k and the most important criteria for me would be that bike should have quick release wheels or should be a folding one.
    I would highly appreciate if you could suggest some good bikes.

    Congrats sir. Today I had gone for the g2g at the xbhp dhaba cycling. Got a chance to hop on after many days. One person even asked me for my 'keys' to ride my cycle Mirrors, horn, indicators are some of the things a biker looks for. The Pahadi Raasta in Gurgaon is a good place to pedal early in the morning in Gurgaon.

    Finally, bought the Firefox Target - 21 Speed. Was swinging between Schwinn Frontier and this, but finally, went for the cheaper and better looking alternative At less than 12kg, its very light too.

    Initial experience:
