I was quite happy with the above figures of carrying 18litres of Gas, but then its not true, it has only 15.5L tank as per the brochure. Also I was wondering they saying that 91 octane would be the preferred fuel. Can anyone tell what would be the after affects of premium fuels on the engine..????

yes. there are quite a few N650R owners who've done the mod.

Can we get the clip handle fixed for Ninja 650r to look sporty ?

If it sells well enough maybe we'll see bikes from Honda/Yamaha/Suzuki as knocked down units instead of CBUs. Though I would like to have similar bike in this price range instead of more powerful and expensive ones.

woaaah I just read a 22 PAGE topic here on xbhp which made me finally log-in on to the website just because the ninja 650 has my eye!

It's a undoubtedly a VFM product and bajaj-kawasaki can't go wrong with all the pro -biking service centers available in the market.

I was about to book the bike today but read an article saying the wait might be 90 days long,which kinda poked me real hard in the heart.If I have to wait THAT LONG then there are couple of more bike I'd like to test before I finalize this one.

I drove the hyosung gt650r and to me it didn't feel comfortable,though felt sporty.The bike was GREAT with its pickup but then it wasn't comfortable at all and with that sitting posture it was pretty hard to move your neck to see what was going around.

I would like to mention that hyosung 650 was the first super bike I ever drove/tested and thanks to my friend Kamal for sharing his happiness with me. But,however,I have been driving motorcyles only mostly since the past 8 years and I still drive/prefer them over cars.

Like the design value of ninja 650 ,hyosung has some design flaws too.But that's what a design process does to a final product.It cannot,ever satisfy the eye of every buyer who might like it.

I am really eyeing hard on the hyosung 650 naked version now as my semi fairing experience with karizma HAD BEEN VERY PATHETIC! I am not sure whether the same will be suffered if I buy a bike of ninja brand as maybe(or assuredly) their fiber plastic built is STRONGER!

However I still know how roads are like here so if by chance ones miss those shitty pot holes,even the strong full fairing bikes "might" get hurt.

However I'd prefer the sitting posture of ninja 650 over the hyosung 650 ANYDAY,but this just is a personal choice as I never liked the posture of r 15 too as I travel a LOT(at least 50/60 kms a day ,7 days a week) and I love to go on long trips too.Remember watching a "sporty" posture is always exciting but it might not feel as exciting once you really travel for long hours with that bent.

So Ninja 650 or hyosung 650 naked - Test rides will tell but what I am really scared of is the fact that whether the news of similar category bikes being launched by honda/yamaha is too around the corner or not as I can wait but I don't wanna repent.

Also I'd like to thank all the majority posters here in this thread for their valuable contributions as in just couple of hours I feel like mini-yoda of next hub of bikes India is about to see!

Never knew about 400R being available & being sold in Canada.

they cant get another bike and position it in the 4L segment , would confuse the customer big time and cannablise the sales of other two aswell .....
so the best we can do is dream on or buy the 650r... choose ur option :-)

It harps on a very interesting perspective, especially with respect to countries with more developed motorcycling markets, whereby some bikes may be labelled as "Entry level" bikes by certain experts, but they're actually a far cry from being motorcycles meant for beginners.

Since our country and it's motorcycling enthusiasts are overjoyed presently at having a choice of 2 bikes in the 600+cc category, and one of these bikes is mentioned in the article above, it might be worth the time to go through this article, and more importantly, accept and understand what these machines are capable of, despite them not being litre class, or despite them not having the "RR" letters attached to their names.

At the end of the day, it'll simply mean safer and more enjoyable motorcycling for all of us.

At times I feel that a whole lot of bikers in our country consider anything under a 1000cc, or a 100bhp, to be a wimp of a machine. That's potentially dangerous, and that's why this article makes so much sense

These are big, and powerful machines. Please take them seriously, and wear proper gear at all times.

My favourite point put forward in the above article, in the most wonderful of ways is as follows...and I quote...

Enjoying these bikes is a must. That will happen, and should happen. But I also look forward to seeing riding maturity increase in leaps and bounds, once more and more riders begin to own these marvellous machines.

Yeah. Even i would have loved to own a bike like Ninja 400R which would have been a perfect upgrade for many ZMA owners including me had it been produced in India and not imported as CKD.

I think if Kawasaki produces the 400R in India, it would not cost more than 2 Lakhs. Anyways letz hope for the best.

i believe its used by a few indians already , but in canada ie ;-)

and i think it would have made more sense in india .
