TVS Motor to begin billings for Phoenix bikes
TVS Motor Company will begin billings for the 125cc Phoenix commuter motorcycle from tomorrow. Estimated despatches to dealerships will be around 7,000 units this month, going up to 15,000 bikes by March 2013.
The Phoenix has an ex-showroom price tag of Rs 51,000 for the drum brake option and Rs 53,000 for the disc brake version.
The 125cc commuter segment already has models like the Bajaj Discover ST and Honda Shine which are targeted at customers keen on going beyond the traditional 100cc space.
It is here that Hero Splendor rules the roost even though its sales have fallen to 1.5 lakh units a month from a high of 2.5 lakh units earlier this fiscal.
Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India is equally upbeat on its recently launched 110cc Dream Yuga while Bajaj is now getting ready with another 100cc bike in the coming months.
TVS has already gone on record to say that the Phoenix will be the start of a series of other launches which will spill into 2013-14.

It will not be easy for TVS to make inroads in 125cc segment, Bajaj which introduced 125cc went out of this segment due to hot competition...The new PR is due to Venu's Son taking over and he's doing a little bit more on publicity compared to his Dad.....the quality won't change overnight...for those who talk great about TVS quality please visit nearest II bike dealer you'll find out how TVS bikes are evaluated....Comment

Agree to what u say about 125cc segment being tough, but talking about quality I dont see any of the existing bikes built to last, I see so many Hero splendor's, Bajaj's, TVS etc with piston rings gone kaput, smoke coming from the silencer.Originally posted by vipin_s View Post
With the recent split of TVS, I believe Venu and his son can concentrate more on bikes and be a little more aggressive.
I would be happy if we do not judge the bike just by looking at them, if the bike is good the market will accept it else it will fail, the flame was a good example of a bad product and it failed badly.Comment

Colors?
Guys, I checked the e-broucher from TVS website and saw some 4-5 colors mentioned. I wanted to check out how the bike would look in these different colors.
But on the net I've found only green and red. Do we have pics of the other available colors?
It's weird, TVS should have provided this color info on their website. Even 360 degree is missing.
Come on, in today's world of fancy marketing and stuff, TVS does seem to lack behind by quite some!<<<< If you stand for nothing, you'll fall for anything! >>>>

Really it is a great bike. TVS has been working hard lately to make a dent in the 125cc segment. Its previous Flame 125cc variant didn't help the company scoring good on the sales chart. . And this time TVS has offered a bike, which seems quite serious for rejuvenating TVS strength in Indian market. TVS Phoenix 125 looks quite similar with Bajaj Discover 125 ST.Jai HoComment

That hazard light switch is a neat feature. TVS is improving.
My dad was searching for a TVS bike for past months and couldn't found one like Victor, so he gone for Yamaha YBR 110. Should have waited for some months.
