@pcgamer - I've checked the acceleration video of the Ninja 300 on Youtube. I guess it has more topspeed that the 2012 Ninja 250R. The speedo showed 189kmph and the rpm needle was almost at the redline on 6th gear. Also I felt that O-160kmph was really effortless. It can do that anyday. Search for "Ninja 300 184" on youtube and check out the video.Last edited by tusharsmoily; 02-24-2013, 11:54 AM.

I know i am going to sound like the bad guy here to spoil the celebration but i am posting this just because the last time i posted something not even remotely close to a particular statement over here it was "Moderated" and deleted with a reason that said:"Offtopic" by the very same person im quoting here. So i could use some clarification on that first highlighted bold part there because anyone who thinks the CBR is a poser bike and not much of a good performer will indirectly be pointing out that anything that competes on the same level as the CBR (or below) it in terms of performance is also not a great performer which also includes the Duke which on xbhp has been declared as the pinnacle of outright performance in the Indian biking scenario often tagged with the term "Hooligan". If you can bother doing a bit of research you will spot these not so great performers have been competing in 7/11 hour endurance races and have been winning championships in the superstock class in the US and Japan(in the same year of their launch) even though they are just 2 years old in the market and have not undergone 2 decades of continous development like the Ninja. The word "poser" is appropriate for bikes that are built like a big race bike but perform like any other commuter bike in its class or in other words a sheep in Wolf's clothing.Originally posted by sunilg View Postwas the Honda CBR250R, thanks to its much cheaper price tag. The CBR250R gave more bang for the buck for average Indian biker who isn’t really interested in a superb performaer but wants a lot of poser value and decent performance. And as there is no replacement for displacement,
As for the second highlighted bold part, it is now a myth. There always have been smaller bikes giving tough competition to their bigger nemesis.. ala the 250RR taking on the supersport 600class bikes. Displacement has very little to do with performance. It is always the state of tune(engine/gearbox/chassis) that brings out the best out of the machines. But today's automotive giants are forced to keep it down thanks to the stupendous emission norms their production vehicles have to meet worldwide. The 80's and the 90's were the last generation to witness outright street performance from even the smallest capacity bikes. An era we all wished/dreamt to have been a part of.
on the topic: The N300 was tuned specifically with midrange grunt as priority. As a result there is not much of a difference in the topend between the N250 and the N300.. The N300 now makes 0-60 in 5-6 seconds range as opposed to the 7-8. And that is a huge leap ahead interms of initial performance. The N300 tops out at 115mph or 185km/h. Not much of a difference when compared to the N250's 110mph but that is what Kawasaki wanted to achieve.. the midrange performance.
The N250 should have had a bit of a change in the design to make it stand out from the N300. Like how the 150R stands out from the 250R despite being very identical.Last edited by Nithesh; 02-24-2013, 04:46 PM.Got a $5 head? Get a $5 helmet.

Thank You Sir for the comparo...Originally posted by Old Fox View PostCompare these with those given in the review post and you'll get a fair idea of how the two bikes compare ergonomically. And do keep in mind the rider bio-measurements - 5 ft 11 in, 32 in inseam and arms 95% bent at elbows.

That's good to hear...Originally posted by Sunny View PostIt will most probably be the N300 here in India.
Thanks for the link. That video was great. Yes, hitting 160 looks like a piece of cake.Originally posted by tusharsmoily View Post@pcgamer - I've checked the acceleration video of the Ninja 300 on Youtube. I saw another one in which the GPS was showing 177km/h when the speedo was at 186km/h. That means, it has the capability to touch 175km/h real speed at least...
PS Here it is,

I stand corrected. The correct figure seems to be 39 HP @ 11,000 RPM. I mixed up the probable figures of the KTM 390.Originally posted by tusharsmoily View Post@Sunny - Sir, the N250R and N300 produce 33ps and 38ps respectively, isn't it? That makes the difference of 5ps of power. Somebody correct me if I am wrong.

@pcgamer - I read somewhere that the true topspeed of Ninja 250R is around 160-162kmph. So I guess Ninja 300 is tall geared than 250R by a small margin. This bike will be a bliss on highways!
I searched on google about the reviews of Ninja 300. Some guy from USA tested it. He claimed a mileage of 60 miles per gallon, which is around 25.2 kmpl! Sounds neat to me! Having said that, I don't know how was he riding it. But he did say that if you revv the heck out of it, the figues drop to 50 miles per gallon i.e around 20-21kmpl! I feel that the mileage figures are more or less equal to the 250R!

The review and trip log of 250r gives more confidence to go for the 650.
Ninja 650 being a sports tourer guzzling normal fuel (high octane not necessary) adds stars to its flares ..
I guess before moving to liter class..650 r will be a great buy..

Well, i didn't want to portray the CBR as the 'poser' bike, nor i want this thread to turn into a CBR Vs Ninja thread. Replace the word 'poser value' with 'visual appeal' and perhaps you will understand what I wanted to convey. However, I am editing my own post to clear the confusion.Originally posted by Nithesh View PostI know i am going to sound like the bad guy here to spoil the celebration but i am posting this just because the last time i posted something not even remotely close to a particular statement over here it was "Moderated" and deleted with a reason that said:"Offtopic" by the very same person im quoting here. CBR/Dukeexactly my point!have not undergone 2 decades of continous development like the Ninja
for the 2 bikes in question here (ninja 300 and 250) it exactly is the case.As for the second highlighted bold part, it is now a myth.(Been There Done That) x 3.25
