  • Himalayan test ride by meteor350 owner

As expected This years motoverse had a Himalayan theme.

There was a whole section where all the colors and models of the bike were on display including the rally edition There were cut sections of motor and RE experts explaining features to all who were ready to listen .

There was even a Ladakh selfie point and a stall selling Leh / Srinagar tea and food.

Amongst the display bikes you could start one of the bikes and hear the engine exhaust while sitting on it.

This was a wonderful way to get the look and feel of the bike. The seating position is so comfortable and the fit and finish is great.

I was an early bird for the test ride. I was among the first group to take a test ride which they started at 10 am . I had not registered online for the test ride but since I was early the volunteer did it graciously. Then he said since the test ride is on road I needed to have my own helmet which I did not have. I requested and borrowed a volunteers helmet and chose the most expensive model with black with golden wheels. We were a group of 10- 12 riders including their volunteers. The seating felt taller than my meteor 350 but still comfortable for my 5’10 frame.

The start of the engine and the exhaust was thrilling. I started cautiously and was quickly on the small Goa road . The first gear acceleration and speed was much better than the meteor which can hardly go beyond 10 kmph without whining.

After a couple of kms we turned off-road and almost everyone was standing on foot pegs and enjoying the ride. I had never stood on a bike but the bike is so stable and the foot pegs so comfortable that I stood on a bike for the first time .

Then they took us on a short hill climb which had small pebbles and was pure off-road which made me panicky as I had never done this before and so I kept myself in 1st and 2nd gear while others went ahead. The drive ended on the cliff with a spectacular sea view.

After a few photos we came back and this time I tried driving faster and was so happy with rev happy nature of the engine. Driving this bike would be so much fun. The tagline of “humble badass” is great

My only gripe on this bike is that it is now offered with spoke wheels and tube tyres.

    Some photos , video attached.
