  • Speed 400 Ownership Long Term

    Hello all,

Took delivery on Oct 1, 2023 from Chennai Greams road showroom and the bike has clocked more than 13k kms. I have travelled to Bangalore, Pondi twice , met with minor skid accident and had to replace some major parts.
So here is my experience with the bike, staff, service quality of Triumph.

Service cost is manageable considering you know what you are getting into and the kind of equipment bike has. for eg: approx prices
    • sintered front brake pads - around 2.2k ish
    • rear brake pads - around 400
    • engine oil - initially Prolube was used for 1k oil change, but for my almost 1 year oil change Castrol was used - around 2.3k ish
    • coolant comes for 400
    • tank is 13k
    • handle bar is 2.5k ish
The service interval is claimed to be one year or 16k kms. But the funny thing is triumph doesn't consider date of delivery as starting of interval. Instead, the count starts the moment bike starts rolling out of factory and on road for shipment and RTO purpose. I am telling this because, one year was supposed to be september end or oct of 2024. Instead, I started getting WhatsApp texts from Triumph to complete my one year service from Aug itself stating that I will get warranty issues if the bike is not serviced by September mid, considering the bike has done around 12k kms.(this is a rant)
    More to come....

Once upon a time, a guy asked a girl 'Will you marry me?'
    The girl said, 'NO!'

And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.

    THE END
