IMO, They will loose more on the TNT 899, pricing is around 10L+ OTR, with no ABS even as option, Z800 will be an easy pick for people when they have to choose between these 2. But, who knows, Peopel still love the symphony of a 3 cylinder.

May I know your reason for choosing 899 (I dont know much about the Aprilia one). Is it because of Italian CBU or Styling or Power ? Just curious

                Ah, well, multiple reasons really.
I for one think that the Z800 is ugly. (I cant believe I just said that).
It is a fairly allright looking bike standalone, but compared to other rivals, it looks not that aesthetically appealing. Plus the Japs, they make Ninjas, they're silent and stellar, whereas the Italians, they're the Mafia, they go about killing people with their Thompson guns, with their Italian suits and all that.)

The Striple, although the most suited for a tall bloke like me(looks big, eh?), its just that its just too much de-tuned. I know about the arrow exhaust and the remap, but then I hate those ultra loud exhausts.

The Aprillia is going to be the cheapest AFAIK, and has 95 BHP form a 750cc engine, as opposed to the Striple's (I dont know, is it 79?)

                Pretty decent bike, eh?

About the 899, I'm not really sure.

You see, all the vehicles that I buy, always are with my heart rather than my head.

What is so unique about this Benelli tnt 300 that it sounds like a triumph triple pot?

Correct me if wrong, a parallel twin should sound like a ninja 650, cbr500r, BMW F800 at the best. Usually we can immediately tell that the engine is a single or double pot.

What is the technical difference in it, like compression, valves, exhaust header etc? I m too curious to know, my mechanical engg friends couldn't tell me.

If it was so easy to extract such roaring smooth multi pot sound from a parallel twin engine, I think Yamaha, Honda, kawasaki would have already done it long back.

I'm am seriously thinking of buying one.
In fact I would suggest everyone to buy a tnt 300. And if anyone doesn't consider it a worthy tourer, then buy it as a commuter at least!

Spending 3 Lakhs on a commuter is a little excessive, dont you think?

The Benelli 300cc Twin Cylinder does sound like a 4 in line engine. My guess is the Exhaust Mufler is so designed to produce the sound through reflective folded horn principle...still unless the designer reveals the design aspect we can only be guessing. the 600cc engine is really a treat on the ears and from what I heard a smooth mile muncher. The 899 is a Three cylinder with dry clutch arrangement and so engine is a little bit more noisy ....but is a power house .If you are not careful, it can pull out of your grip.
Not much is revealed of the Design parameters of the Benelli Engines, and over a period of time only we can get to know of it..

The Test Ride report of our Super Moderators does explain some of the important aspects of Benelli design .

                                Oh, so it's a secret!
Even my initial thought was that it's something in the exhaust, but as seen in lot of YouTube videos, the sound doesn't change even when the camera is close to the running engine. I think the secret lies in the engine design and perfect sync between engine and exhaust.

My close friend is working in Benelli, maybe he can get the answer from their engineers.
He has already booked the 600i, along with some employee discount!
