As of now, there is no database as such that has this info available and it will be a humongous task to create one since there are thousands of dhabas in every state. It would be better if you ask for this info for a particular route or state.

Okay. I know for a fact that there is the Dhaba at Pongam, between Angamaly and Chalakudi in NH47 which has good food 24x7. Are there any other Dhabas in Kerala highways?

IMO there are three responses to this really:
a. There is a living encyclopedia of indian highways called mr HVKumar. Google him and ask
b. Make such a list yourself & share with us
c. Its just a frank waste of time in most cases - if you can take simple dal roti look out for roads where the LONG trailers stop (think your HR38/55 truckers carrying maruti cars). They know the safe/good food places. I follow this logic to the T. Has not let me down even a single time in the past 6+ years of Indian highways.

A). Thanks for that tip. Would be very useful.
B). Will definitely do so. Food is an intricate part of travel and culture, hence I do plan to write about the various good eateries I encounter during rides.
C) Of course a long line of trucks is a definite giveaway for good and simple food, and the truckers have their own unwritten databases of places to eat around the country. Sometimes the truckers know some off the road eateries that may not be easily visible on the highway. In my experience less gaudy the appearance, healthier and tastier the food from the place. The reason I want to compile such a database is that it would be helpful when planning rides into remote corners of the nation. In such a case if teh experienced riders shared these trivia, it would be very useful.
