  • Search for an ergonomic backpack

After much deliberation, thought of opening this thread as i wasn't able to find out which are the best and most ergonomic backpacks available these days. I am precisely looking for a bag(for work and travel) which helps me efficiently manage my 15" laptop, 1x dslr camera, 1 extra lens, all chargers, few books and travel knick knacks. This bunch stays the same, until sometimes I decide to not take the lappy or camera. I did a lot of research through Lowepro, Ivar etc and found these two really really good. But then what about Caselogic, Samsonite, or even Kriega for that matter?

    The major buying factor is:

    1. Ergonomy: no matter how much weight I carry, the spine shouldn't get stressed, for sustained periods during trekking, walking or even biking etc & things should stay nice and organized inside. Ivar wins hands down here.

I have a decent budget and wont mind stretching it for something which is really the best. I liked Lowepro's Compuprimus and Computrekker series, but they are little heavy. If there are folks here who have been owning one, please recommend something for my multi-faceted use.

    Thanks!

I personally use the LowePro ProRunner 350AW which holds 2 DLSR bodies (APS-C), 3-4 lenses, an external flash, my camera battery chargers, a 15" laptop, and a couple of t-shirts too!

And I've used it extensively on tours too; it hasn't been of much trouble really. Super comfortable to carry all day, absolutely no issues!

I've been using this one - http://www.laptophp.com/wp-content/u...p_backpack.jpg for 3 years now

Top notch quality, top notch in stitching & what not? I've stuffed it with more than 20-25 Kg & have carried (not trekking); it has a hook, that makes me believe its a trekking bag. Not sure though.

It has a pocket to stuff ipod & an external connection through which headphones can be attached/detached without having to touch the ipod.

Has sepearate section for first aid kit, stuff to hold keys, stationaries.

Victorinox is their brand of another product that serves as tools. This is Swissgear backpack, also sold as Wenger brand in US; costs a bomb, worth every smoke!!!

Of the few bags I have used, the most comfortable have been those:
            1. With well padded shoulder straps
            2. With chest/waist belt for carry heavy loads without stressing the shoulder much!
            3. Padding on the back of the backpack

Sometimes cheap bags are as good but then again its up to the person.

I am using a laptop bag which has really well padded shoulder straps & a waist belt. Its a comfy back pack and have used it for overnight trips, bike trips & more .

So go ahead and try out back packs to see which one fits you well!

Aryan, Aargee: can you guys provide me some snaps of your bags with their respective compartments, stuffed etc to give a general idea. Images on websites dont suffice.

i have been using a trunk& co (samsonite) 3 compartment back pack for the last 10 years. extensively used. (office/rides/photography etc) and currently strapped on the rear seat on my ninja. if any one can tell me how to damage it i would be happy to go for a replacement.
