It is indeed a car that actually runs. It looks like a prototype. But it runs, has been tested and is on it's last stages before coming out soon in production.
I had the privilege accorded by BMW to get up close and intimate with this ultimate machine that I have ever seen at such close quarters... a very impressive experience that left me speechless, spellbound and wanting for more...
I will let the photos do the talking for now...
Does this even look like a car?

The BMW Vision Efficient Dynamics is supposed to combine the exhilarating powerful experience of a Series M and the efficiency of a small urban car with extremely low emission and a consumption of fuel of as low as 3.6L/100kms which translates to 27Kms to a litre!

I would die for those lines!!!

And for those rear view mirrors!

Those wheels have a braking system that generates kinetic energy renewal system (KERS) that was used in 2010 in some of the F1 teams. This car uses this technology to recharge the 98 Li-Polymer batteries during a journey!

The Vision is powered by a 3cylinder 1.5 litre turbo diesel engine and the Li-Polymer batteries and delivers 356Bhp of power and 800Nm of Torque! And the maximum speed is electronically limited at 250Kmph! The acceleration is phenomenal at 0-100 in 4.8 seconds!
Overall cruising range at 700kms!
They have tried to create a "Green" car and have taken a lot of steps in this direction. They are not using high solvent paints but replaced with water-based paints, electrification of the powertrains amongst other steps.
I spent a good 2 hours in close company of this lovely machine. I did not want to leave... It was a wonderful experience.
